Hello everyone,
I am so glad to be here.
I have checked a few posts about self study which are very encouraging.
Hopefully I should be able to pass F1 without any classroom assistance. I still need some answers to my questions. Please help.I want to know
(1) how much time do I need to dedicate to self study to appear for F1 exam in June 2016.(2) I had a quick look at the mock exams, it seems to be all multiple choice. Do we have to write descriptive answers in the exam.
(3) I will be getting BPP text book and exam kit. Are there any other exam/ study tool that you would like to recommend. I will be using OpenTuition resources too to educate myself.
(4) I have not studied anything since 2001. Been a full time mum for the past 8 years. Would anyone like to recommend any slow and steady study plan Or should I be doing intensive studies 2 months before exams.Thank you so much in advance for your precious time.
March 2, 2016 at 8:42 am #302980Though it must be late for the advice but, you DO NOT need to study F1 from a textbook as it will just take a lot of your time.
SIMPLY use Opentuition notes and listen to the lectures parallel to it. Get a grip on the notes especially and then move on to the BPP exam kit and solve it twice WITHOUT marking the answers on the kit so that you can use the kit for the 2nd round. And no, you do not need to write any descriptive answers in the exam as it is a complete MCQ/MTQ based paper.
I used this method and scored 77 marks having no accounting\business background ever.
Complete working through the notes and lectures and by the the end of April you must start the 1st attempting round of the exam kit. This way you will not require to carry out any intensive study (if you are only attempting F1 with no other paper)
Best of luck 🙂 - AuthorPosts
