Hello,
I have only 4 papers left to complete and in the last session, i cleared P2 but failed P1 with 30%.
I am currently taking P7 tuition and am finding the paper very interesting.
However, my problem is that i intend to take 2 papers in June and want to do P7.
But as essentials should be completed first, my choice would be to do 3 papers if i want to take P7 in June.
Do you think it is advisable to take P1,P3 &P7 at the same time and i understand some papers are a bit less difficult in december. Upon the above comments, please advise?
Thanks.
February 14, 2014 at 8:15 am #158697That’s a false rumour that December papers are easier than June papers – think about it! No one would do exams in June if that were really the case.
If you have money to spare, you could enter for all three P1, P3 and P7 and then not attend for either P1 or P3 (or both if you felt like it, and just do P7)
Given that you have already attempted P1, there must be a residue of knowledge and understanding there upon which you can build leading to the June exams
Without knowing a great deal about P3 though, it seems that P1 and P7 are similar to a degree in the style and requirements (and to some extent in the content – auditing does appear within P1) so I’m thinking that you could become bored quite easily.
Why not think about all three – it’s for you only 2.5 having already tried P1

I was in exactly the same position as you for the December 2013 sitting, the only difference is I chose to defer P7 until June 2014 (which is what Im studying now).I had started to study P7 and then realised as you mentioned above that you have to complete or enter P1,2&3 before you can attempt an option.
In September 2013 I therefore made the decision to switch my study to P1 & P3.
I had failed P1 in June 13, but I had never attempted P3 before.I entered for P3, with the intention of having a “practice run” at it as I genuinely believed I would not pass. I used only Opentuitions notes and lectures, and past papers, I scored 64% at the first attempt! (Which I was shocked at!!)
My advice would be (if you have the time and money) sit all 3 of them. I am happy that I did as I have now got only 2 option papers left which I hopefully will complete in June.
Very best of luck to you

Will it be an issue if absent in any of the paper?
