    Hello

I’m running a bit late with my studies at the moment for various reasons and wondered if anyone could give me some advice on what papers to register for to sit in June.

I sat two papers last year (F1 and F2) and passed F1. I was thinking of refoing F2 and sitting F3 by CBE in JUly but I am concerned that a lot of people here have found the CBEs more difficult.

I was also thinking of sitting two paper-based exams, perhaps F4 and F6. What do you think?

I am a full-time student at the moment – from home – and have no previous accounting experience or studies. Could someone advise on what papers might be easier for me to attempt from F4 onwards?

    Thank you for your help!

A few people have said the CBE are harder? Which may be as they seemed so easy before (never heard of anyone failing) – maybe they have gotten harder?

Either way, as you can do CBE whenever you like and as often as you like, I’d say they are a more convenient option (though I should also say I’ve never taken one).

You do the exam, find out if you pass. Yes = good, move on. No = back to revision and see about the next exam!

I don’t like the wait and the worry for sitting an exam and then finding out 2-3 months later you failed.

But yes. They do get harder! (though your experiences also improve)

F4 – lots to learn and wordy. But get the law gist and you should be fine.
F5 – * Don’t know, never did it? Looks like a mid step from F2, so could be good to do as or after F2, as they could help each other?
F6 – Tax can be confusing but the rules make sense (in a fashion) meaning it’s not too bad (I thought) and useful to know anyways! 🙂
F7 – Technically this was the most difficult of the F level papers, but some people had no problem with it? I thought this one the hardest.
F8 – Audit is a writing based exam, the bane of many. Otherwise it’s mainly common sense and a little knowledge.
F9 – Large syllabus and considered by many to be very hard if not the hardest!
