Hello John,
I’m very time pressured in my schedules. If I could just watch the P4 lectures on open tuition, and read the related notes and then practice the revision kit would that be adequate to get me through my studies and pass the exam?
I bought the Kaplan P4 exam kit and study text but the study text is very voluminous and I don’t have the time so would the above approach work?

That’s the Kaplan page where you can purchase books and kits online.
Asking for copyrighted materials on open tuition is a violation to the terms of use that you agreed to when you signed up on open tuition.

Regarding your first question, the lectures and notes do cover most of the techniques necessary for the exam (there are a few missing, but they will be added during the coming weeks).
However most important of all is practicing questions because at P4 it is not simply applying the techniques but knowing how and when to apply them, and interpreted the scenario (especially for question 1 in the exam).
I would use the Study Text more as a reference book. It is too big to read every page! Best is to use it when you come to topics that you are unsure about. (And certainly the more time you have for extra reading the better).

March 26, 2015 at 10:38 am #238944Dear Mr Moffat,
which of the topics and lectures would you advise to start from. Which are absolutely crucial and I have to be perfect, which are of second importance, third etc…
Is the P&R Kit from BPP for the exam December 2013 still valid. I have studied already for December 2013 exam, but couldn’t finaly take it due to health problems. So far, I appear to remember something, but do not feel secure about my knowledge.
I decided to take P5 and P4 thi session, but I don’t know how much time I will be able to spend on the preparation as I have small child to take care.
Would be grateful for your support
Kind regards
AgnieszkaMarch 26, 2015 at 12:20 pm #238953I am afraid that it is all important.
I suppose most important for Section A of the exam are sections C and F of the syllabus, but you cannot ignore the others.Yes – the Revision Kit from 2013 is still fine (just make sure you download the more recent exams questions and answers from the ACCA website).
