Hi JC, I am reading this and thanks for the kind words! It was a huge pleasure having you under my care. Your hard work paid off and now, I believe you have the confidence to tackle bigger analytical milestones in your career.
May this success further catalyze your career!
November 7, 2022 at 4:54 pm #670919I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mentor (Lorraine McKechnie) for accepting my request just a 5 weeks before the submission deadline and for guiding me through with her expert feedback and guidance. I really liked working with her as she has been super helpful by staying in touch through emails and answering my specific question in a very professional manner. I am very hopeful to pass and it wouldn’t have been possible without her guidance.
Thanks,
LSNovember 7, 2022 at 5:16 pm #670920Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. (Lorraine works alongside me at absolute mentoring – we do different topics). I’ll convey your thanks to her – and good luck and fingers crossed for a successful result!
November 29, 2022 at 11:49 pm #672890Passing the OBU research paper is not just about your research skills, knowledge and choice of a good topic and organisation. It’s also about finding the right mentor who can properly guide you and critique your work to make sure its high quality (one that will give you a Pass mark and also one that you will be proud of submitting). Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way with wasted time and money on my first attempt back in 2015. I gave up halfway through. I was just utterly overwhelmed and discouraged to even finish it because the mentor I had, which my school provided, just didn’t care about even commenting on my work.
I mustered the courage to do it again for the P44 submission just right before my 10-year limit lapsed. Luckily this time, I found Gillian Moorse on google. She was vouched well by other students on the OpenTuition forums. And true indeed, she is one of the Best in Class mentors out there!!! I got an A grade for my research and therefore received an Upper Second Class Honours! I never thought it was possible especially when I had to do the paper whilst preparing for my last ACCA exam. I was clueless on the first two drafts but Gillian patiently saw me through until I had a complete grasp of everything. She replied promptly to my emails and thoroughly assessed my written drafts at a top-notch level. I learned so much from her expertise on Topic 17! I am highly recommending her to anyone here who is looking for a good RAP mentor!

Ps. I recently met up with her and she’s as lovely in person as she is on zoom video calls/emails conversations!

Hi Gillian, may I know if I had registered for a mentor for Period 46 and prepared RAP also for Period 46, but I want to submit in Period 47 provided the Topic I chose still applicable in Period 47, is it allowed by OBU?
March 9, 2023 at 10:51 am #680820Provided your report complies with the requirements set out in the Information Pack for the particular topic this will not normally be a problem. The University has confirmed that the topic titles will not be changed for P47 but there may be further clarification of the existing topics. However you should also consult the latest Info Pack that will relate to P47 when it appears [usually it is available in June] to check on the very latest requirements. .
As mentioned elsewhere there has been an issue in P45 concerning Topics 4, 5 & 8 [not complying with the full topic title and stipulated requirements] which has resulted in a significant number of fails – so be aware of this is you have done one of these topics.
March 22, 2023 at 1:27 pm #681658Happy to announce that I have passed my OBU RAP with ease, all thanks to my mentor Gillian Moorse!
She is very honest with a student’s work, and stimulates progressive and notable improvement from my personal experience, I cannot recommend her enough. She would provide detailed and considerate feedbacks which is a major reason as to why her mentoring skills are adored by many (as mentioned by many of her previous students on this form). My topic of choice was topic 13 (Poor Ethical Business Practices’), it is usually a minority choice but a really interesting one compared to the rest. Gillian being a specialist in the area of Corporate Governance, would provide valuable knowledge on aspects that must be addressed in order to draft a decent report. You can always get in touch with her for absolutely any question via email anytime during your RAP and she will always provide valuable advise.Find details about Gillian Moorse and her service: https://absolutementoring.uk/about/
March 22, 2023 at 4:58 pm #681664Passed. I would like to sincerely thank my mentor, Lorraine, from Absolute Mentoring for her professionalism and support in mentoring me to achieve a First class degree honours, on the first attempt.
March 22, 2023 at 11:12 pm #681672I have successfully passed the RAP in a single attempt, and it is all thanks to the guidance of Gillian Moorse from Absolute Mentoring (https://absolutementoring.uk/).
From the first meeting itself, I knew I had made the best decision to select her as a mentor.
Being an expert in the field, she knew exactly what I needed to excel. Her attention to detail, quick responses, comprehensive guidance, and transparency led me to produce a successful RAP.
She was very honest about the challenges I would face due to the limited time I had which was wonderful as I was able to manage my expectations accordingly.
I honestly cannot recommend her enough.
To anyone that is still in search of a mentor, look no further, Gillian is all you need!
– Henna (Period 45 Submission)
March 23, 2023 at 9:29 am #681687Much thanks and appreciation to Lorraine Mckechnie at absolute mentoring. She took my request with very little time to go, and ensured that I was able to pass on my first attempt with a 2nd class upper for period 45.
For anyone who’s interested in applying for the next session, I’d highly recommend their services. Only other thing I’d add is that it’s important to start early so try reaching out to them in good time.
I was comparing an early draft of my work to the final submission and the difference was frankly remarkable. The team at absolute mentoring has a lot of experience and can really help you fine tune your submission to target your desired grade.
Thank you Loraine!
March 23, 2023 at 9:42 am #681688Many thanks to Irwin, which has been my mentor during the OBU project. To All of you who are planning to take on the project, I strongly recommend Irwin from Learning Luminarium ( https://learningluminarium.com). I have just received the good news and passed with a grade A. This is something I did not expect, and I am very surprised and satisfied with my results. I met some setbacks in doing the project, but Irwin has always been supportive and gives useful guidance and feedback that is very helpful and encouraging. I would say I could not have gained such a good result without his help. Again, I am grateful for his professional and prompt advice and feedback which is indispensable to completing my project.
March 23, 2023 at 2:53 pm #681702For all those doing the RAP, please read this:
A friend recommended me Lorraine McKechnie as my mentor and because of her guidance, I passed the RAP! For anyone looking for a mentor, please go to her, she has experience and is truly amazing! She changed my perspective and approach towards the RAP, and was always encouraging and understanding! She also provided really insightful feedback. Please look no further, she is the best!!
March 26, 2023 at 9:09 am #681823I passed my RAP on my first attempt in Period 45 with a B grade on Topic 4. I wouldn’t have been able to make it myself without my mentor, Adrian. Completing the OBU project has always been in my plan, but for some reason, I put it off. I was lost, stressed, and frustrated with my RAP process, especially as my analysis part haven’t been finalized and there were about 10 days left before the deadline. However, Adrian was very responsive to my email and patient to provide me with valuable comments to improve my work. His guidance and support throughout my project also kept me always on the right track. It was a challenging and great experience!!
I would highly recommend Adrian Tan from The Learning Luminarium to any student looking for an experienced mentor for their OBU project. Wish you and your team all the best, and good luck to all mentees!

April 8, 2023 at 12:58 am #682386I would like to give a big thanks to Irwin (Learning Luminarium) for his guidance towards my first-time pass in P45! I had a very short time frame to complete, submit and pass my RAP project. His patience and his equal commitment for me to see through the project has been very valuable. He is reliable, approachable and is a great encouragement to students undertaking their RAP project journey. I strongly recommend Irwin from Learning Luminarium ( https://learningluminarium.com).
May 12, 2023 at 4:10 pm #684255Huge thanks and a big recommendation to Irwin from https://learningluminarium.com/ for mentoring me through my RAP. Irwin was friendly, patient, objective as well as quick and precise with his feedback – from the beginning I knew I was in good hands.
He guided me through the process step by step and broke things down into manageable chunks so I never felt too overwhelmed. I ended up creating a strong report and was left with a hugely satisfying feeling that, even though I would not have done it without Irwin’s guidance, I’ve done the hard work myself – a testament to his mentoring skills. Thanks!

September 20, 2023 at 10:16 am #692316I passed my OBU RAP on my first attempt in Period 46!
Lorraine McKechnie from Absolute Mentoring, my mentor throughout the research project, was instrumental in guiding me from a vague topic choice to a successfully completed project. She provided invaluable guidance on selecting a suitable industry and company, ensuring a strong start.
Lorraine’s professionalism and commitment were exceptional, going beyond the minimum requirements to offer thorough support. Our meetings were unhurried, with detailed reviews and constructive feedback on my drafts.
Her expertise and insights were crucial for project success, and I firmly believe I would not have passed without her mentorship.
I wholeheartedly recommend her as a mentor for the OBU research project.
September 20, 2023 at 10:34 am #692318Highly recommend The Learning Luminarium.
Especially Mr.Irwin, who’s guidance helped me succeed in the RAP in the first attempt whilst juggling the AAA exam and other commitments. They were extremely professional and provided very valuable guidance before, during and after making the RAP. They were quick in responding to any queries I had. Well worth the money!

ShebinSeptember 20, 2023 at 11:01 am #692319I’m thrilled to write this testimonial to express my appreciation for the support and guidance I received from Lorraine McKechnie at Absolute Mentoring. With her help, I passed the RAP on my attempt during Period 46. My journey with Lorraine began in Period 45. Although I had a thorough plan, I couldn’t complete my work before the November 2022 deadline.
Initially, it was a bit embarrassing for me to admit that I couldn’t meet the Period 45 deadline. However, Lorraine was understanding and supportive without passing any judgment. When I reached out to her about my situation, she readily agreed to hold meetings to accommodate my needs. She displayed unwavering patience and a genuine dedication to helping me succeed. Her guidance played a role in restoring my confidence and overcoming the obstacles that hindered my progress in Period 45.
Thanks to Lorraine’s mentorship, not only did I manage to catch up, but I also finished strong during Period 46. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend Lorraine McKechnie from Absolute Mentoring as a mentor for anyone in need.
September 21, 2023 at 12:51 pm #692376I was able to pass my RAP in the very first attempt with an upper second class honours and all thanks to Ms. Lorraine McKechnie from Absolute Mentoring. From the very first meeting she guided me on the process and encouraged me to take an extra step, because of which I had the confidence that I would pass.
Her clear and constructive feedback made me realize my mistakes and challenged me to dig deeper into my research concepts and methods. Even on times when I was unable to attend a meeting, she was very understanding and flexible. She continuously emphasised on referencing since it was something I was new to. I do believe selecting a good mentor is vital for passing and I’m happy I got it right. Being a former marker herself, she knew exactly what the markers are looking for.
It was a wonderful experience to be her mentee and I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor. Thank you once again Ms. Lorraine for your support and motivation. I’d totally recommend her to the future RAP candidates.
September 22, 2023 at 7:23 am #692405I can highly recommend Lorraine McKechnie from Absolute Mentoring. She helped me pass after my failed attempt. She made me realize that accountant and researcher are two very different disciplines. She made me work and think like a researcher (which I am not) and helped me to structure my work in a way that is was acceptable for OBU.
She is highly educated and experienced. She is a lovely person, very approachable and understanding too. She provided constructive criticism and feedback that was invaluable.
One thing I have definitely learnt is that I should have asked her to be my mentor the first time when I attempted to submit my project. I would highly recommend booking her if you want your project to pass at first time. Or second time when you are very disappointed. She will bring your hopes back up.
Thank you Lorraine for all your help.
September 27, 2023 at 5:57 pm #692586My most sincere recommendation to Irwin from https://learningluminarium.com/ for guiding me through the process of writing the RAP.
Like many people I went into it having little idea on what to expect and how to begin. Irwin gave me the pointers I needed on each step on the way and even when I didn’t yet see the whole picture I always knew what the next step would be.
Despite the size of the task I never felt stuck and Irwin’s feedback was always incredibly quick. He knew what the markers want to see and motivated me to polish some of the rougher edges of the work in the last couple of weeks before the deadline. All this effort resulted in my RAP being given an A mark which was beyond my expectations.
Thank you for your help Irwin!October 6, 2023 at 7:19 pm #692882Hi,
