Guys, I need your advice! I’ve got 47 marks for P7. This is my third attempt. I worked really hard to prepare for this exam, did as many previous years questions as I could, revised all theory, did a mock. On the exam I attempted all questions. Now I’m frustrated and I have no idea how can I better prepare for this exam. I really sick and tired of preparation for this exam! Should I appeal for admin review? Those who did please advice if it’s worthwhile. I know that the review is not a remarking of the script but I really don’t understand where it went wrong. Thanks a lot!

I have been tempted for my P1 result, even looking at the exam answers from the ACCA website i am struggling to see how I failed as I did

The problem is asking for an administrative review is challenging the ACCA’s marking, which they claim is watertight. I dont think the appreciate it, and I cannot see them revising their marking, the review just checks that the correct procedure in performing the marking process was followed. I do remember last sitting though, I read a post on a website (might have been OT) where a student was told they had failed, only to be contacted to say they had passed.

One thing we are taught throughout the ACCA qualifiaction is transparency, which I really think the ACCA fails at when it comes to the results. Under CIMA, students get a summary sent of where their marks were scored (or not) in their exam, so they can identify their weak areas

A guy used to work here who used to manage a team of ACCA markers, some of his stories were a bit worrying, especially when he mentioned the fact that the markers were going to be under more pressure due to ACCA trying to reduce the wait time for results

I have found that admin reviews do not work. I have appealed in the past only to be dissapointed and having wasted a £100. They will not change your mark as that is questioning their integrity and whats worse is they give you a breakdown per question but only showing F or P to say if you passed that question or failed it.

its ridiculous and just a money making scheme.

I am going to be attempting P7 the fourth time as well and I know its really disheartening when people who claimed that they didnt study at all pass and people like us who worked so hard failed but I think its just our bad luck.

I scored 48% for my P5 this time. Can I apply for review of my exam papers? Thanks.

I decided to risk it and request an Admin review for my P7 result….which was 35. I honestly don’t think this was a fair reflection of the exam script i handed up. Spoke to ACCA rep & supervisor at length yesterday morning but they only told me what is already on their website. To me 35 indicates that I didn’t answer questions fully or left them completely blank. I came out of that exam thinking i could have written more because I had the information. Am very disappointed 🙁

I am in jeopardy these days after my P7 exam result and want some advise, in DEC-2012 i attempted P6 and P7, i passed P6 but got 48 marks for P7. I applied for admin review and found out that one of my compulsory and one of optional question failed, it did make sense as one of the optional question i answered was wrong and for the other compulsory question i was unable to complete owing to time pressure.

Then, make JUN-2013, i just sat P7 (as my last paper) and attempted all questions within the time limit and practiced a lot of past papers before exams, i was confident that i would make this time as when i compared my answers to suggested answers by ACCA, i found that i have not made a blunder and answered the question correctly. But to my surprise i got 48 marks again, this is a bit weird since, if i were to fail, why at the same mark. Its not making any sense to me.

Please advise, should i get my admin review done again for this session or not.
