As the new syllabus and questions style contains 20 proffessional marks – would it now be easier to pass the paper? I’ve been through the specimin exam for September 22 and can see that the answer itself is similar in terms of points made and writing style for any of the previous exams.

In theory, yes – because the professional skills marks are in addition to the technical marks (as for SBL). But there has to an answer to each part of a question that earns technical marks in order for the PS marks to be awarded. So if a part is not attempted there will still be no marks. Or if an answer does not respond to the requirement, it is hardly likely to attract the professional marks that the examiner is looking for.
