    Hi,

Which book/study texts do you recommend for me to use specifically to help me with Accounting Standards for the P7 paper?

I understand that it is important to learn the standards so is there any book that covers the standards only?

    Thanks,

Short answer – NO – but I don’t think that’s the way to approach IFRS for the AAA.

Have you downloaded our notes (see Chapter 15) and listened to/watched the corresponding lecture? https://opentuition.com/acca/aaa/relevant-accounting-standards-acca-advanced-audit-and-assurance-aaa

If you have any questions arising from that Chapter or Steve’s lecture please do ask further questions on this forum.

    Thank you for your answer.

Do you think I have enough time to prep for the Sept exam through your online lectures?

    Thank you

If you download ACCA’s Study Support Guide there’s a planner you can use to schedule your time. You can see that the lectures probably average around 20 mins each
    https://opentuition.com/acca/aaa/acca-advanced-audit-assurance-aaa-lectures
Of course you need to read the accompany notes too.
For revision you should practice – as a BARE minimum – 4 hours’ worth of exam style and standard questions from a current kit – so at 3.25 hours an exam that’s a minimum of 13 hours to be spent writing answers – but you should double that time to allow for review of answers against marking schemes and reading examiner’s reports.
You should allow a day to “sit” a mock exam and review your answers.
I also recommend that you include in your schedule reading the articles/resources that I have highlighted in sticky posts at the top of this forum.
If it looks “tight” to be prepared for September you would be better preparing for December – schedules tend only to get tighter and more pressured as deadlines approach!

    Thank you for your reply.

This is a retake so I don’t feel I have to go through every single lecture, just some refreshers on the accounting standards and of course exam question practice.

Then you may find ACCA Retake Support Guide helpful https://www.accaglobal.com/ca/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/retake-guides.html

Also I’m confused as to how I should practice exam questions as it is now Computer based, should I still be using the kit?

Familiarise yourself with ACCA resouces https://www.accaglobal.com/ca/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7.html See the link to CBE question practice
You should practice the questions that are available in the practice platform in the practice platform – there will be additional questions in the kit for which you should use the kit.
