At the beginning of the year, a company employed 4600 individuals. During the year, 1800 individuals were recruited and at the end of the year, the company employed a total of 5500 individuals.
what was labour turnover during the year, as a percentage of the average employment level?
Give your answer to the nearest 1%

please correct my answers as per following :

    opening 4600
    closing 5500
    difference 900

    900/4600+5500/2=900/5050=17.82%=18%

    thank you.

    Molly Sum’s answer is correct.
If nobody had left then the number of employees would have increase to 6400.
Because it only increased to 5500, it mean that 900 must have left.

Therefore the number who left and were replaced was 900.

The extra 900 were not replacements, they were completely new employees.
