Hi,
In previous job I was working 1.5 year and managed to fulfill 6 out of 9 required objectives.
In current job I am working 2 years (means I fulfilled the required 36 months), but I dont have a qualified person who could claim that I fulfilled remaining 3 objectives.
Can I just ask my boss (not qualified) to sign that I was working here 2 years (36 months done), and if I move to another job and I work lets say 1 month, fulfilling my remaining 3 objectives (confirmed by qualified person), Im done with all?
In other words, I need to work 3 years and fulfill 9 objectives, but I can e.g fulfill 9 objectives during 1 month and work 35 months not fullfiliing objectives?
Thans a lot for clarification
October 21, 2020 at 3:50 am #590901Hi Adrian,
I contacted ACCA for this exact reason because where I work there is no qualified person also. So they told me that the duration of the work can be signed by the HR or your boss and the objectives should only be signed by a qualified person which can be the external auditor of the company or if you move to another job later you can complete your objectives there even if you completed 3 years of experience.
So the duration and the objectives can be completed separately .
In my case I haven’t had anyone to sign my objectives so far. What I’ve been thinking is to complete the three years and then I might find a position in an ACCA qualified employer, so I can get an exemption of completing the objectives(if it’s allowed).
October 22, 2020 at 8:52 am #591078See here https://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/student/practical-experience-per/36-months-practical-experience.html “To complete your PER you’ll need to complete 36 months’ supervised experience in a relevant accounting or finance role”
November 1, 2020 at 11:40 am #593738Hi Kim,
Thanks for your response, I’ve read all resources however Im still not 100% clear on this.
JOB 1 (previous): I had 6/9 PER signed and 2 years work done.
JOB 2 (current): In current job I’ve done remaining 1 year experience in finance (total 36 months done), but I dont have a person to sign me any PER.
JOB 3 (future): If I move to next job, can I just work 1 or 2 months and sign 3/9 PER by qualified person and I’m done with everyting?
Additional question: Do I need in JOB 2 to sign at least 1 PER to count this 1 year time?
November 1, 2020 at 3:20 pm #593751Re leaving or changing roles:
Re changing employment:
“It is important to ensure that your PER record is updated and that your practical experience supervisor has signed off any performance objectives or time you have achieved when you change roles. MyExperience will prompt you to get your time signed off when you indicate you are leaving a role or when you reach 36 months in total.
You will then need to achieve the remainder of your TIME and any remaining PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES in your new role.”Re who can be your supervisor:
“If your line manager is not qualified they can still sign-off your time in a relevant role and you’ll need to nominate an additional qualified supervisor to sign-off your objectives. This additional supervisor could be another manager within the organisation, a consultant or the organisation’s external accountants or auditors who will work with your line manager to validate your experience.”So I don’t think you need for POs to be signed off in Job 2 – but you’d be best seeking direct clarification from ACCA.
