Has any one ever made a request for conversion from ACCA to CPA. A friend of mine who has two outstanding papers took a break last two sittings duebto his dissapointment with ACCA. He is now CPA qualified. I am also in the process of doing so as I am fed up with these people and the way they treat students. Let it be known that CPA has more weight than ACCA and is accepted world wide. Persons with ACCA qualification get a lot of dissapointment when they travel to Amerian countries but not with CPA.So those of you thinking along this line. Please ensure to do the OBU as soon as you can as this is a pre requisite although they are working on new entry route

If you wish to go to these locations, then yes CPA is preferred, however I have many colleagues with ACCA who have successfully moved to America based on just the ACCA qualifications. In many other jurisdictions ACCA carries equivalent if not better weight, so it is an unfair and uninformed statement to say that CPA is better. It depends on the scenario and circumstances.
I have known people who started preparing for the CPA exams before I started my ACCA exams. I finished my ACCA exams before they finished CPA. In one case the person quit CPA and came back to ACCA. Again, each persons circumstances are different.
