I passed with 65%. I did not have enough time to complete the later parts of question 4. I watched all the lectures on Open Tuition over and over again especially while driving in traffic. I used the BPP workbook and Practice &revision kit. I also practiced all the previous exam questions and specimen papers, under exam conditions. This was my first attempt, thank God i don’t have to rewrite.

75% pass on 5th attempt, all the hard-work finally paid off…
CBE for SBR was a real game changer as I struggled a lot in prior SBR exams with my handwriting and trying to keep a logical and neat answer structure within time limit, which was extremely frustrating.
Especially given the fact nobody in a real workplace writes for 3 hours anymore, wish ACCA introduced CBE for strategic level exams much earlier, would save a lot of pain.Wish you all best of luck and keep going, no matter how hard and desperate your situation might look like!

Congratulations.. can you please explain how CBE was more helpful for you compared to paper based? How it was time saving & beneficial for you? I am taking September session & my first CBE. So not sure how to write an answer using word & excel. I mean do I need to write all small calculations in Excel?
Please share whatever is valuable to know for CBE.. ThanksApril 15, 2020 at 8:21 am #568315ashifraj

I passed second time around with 68%. First time I wrote SBR I got 36% my worst sitting ever. That 36% knocked me back a little, I took 6 months out re-evaluated everything; handwriting, time management, making sure I saw everything on the syllabus at least twice before an exam, examiners reports, could comment on each question in the Specimen papers, articles etc. The most import thing is on the day be confident it comes out in answers and stick to time. That process never failed me!!! Keep pushing guys. AFFILATE!!!

I used mostly BPP Study / Workbook and Practice Book and Opentuition materials.
Also covered all technical articles and practice CBE “dry run” modules on ACCA website to get used to a technique and CBE- it really was so much easier to organize the answer.
I also did 2 mock exams before- which to me was really essential.April 15, 2020 at 8:44 pm #568391roman7

If you take CBE, which I definitely recommend, make sure you practice a lot using CBE test modules on ACCA website.
CBE just simulates how you would answer any business issue in a workplace, where you need to do some calculations in excel and write a report in word processor.
Excel module is easy to use and each question section has a defined method of answering some require to use excel.
The best feature is that you can use multiple windows at once on the same screen, which makes answering questions much easier and you can copy-paste from question sections into answer section etc.
Make really easy to prepare and review answers, which makes it much easier for marker to follow and give confidence that you really know, what you’re writing about.April 16, 2020 at 1:54 pm #568450gmuriya@gmail.com
