Passed on my 4(!)-th attempt. Those who didn’t manage to do it, don’t give up, do your best! The lectures of Chris are brilliant, you just need to practice.

I am done now, thanks OT! Will donate!

For those of you who passed and did self study, can you please share your tips? What do you think worked? Etc

    Much appreciated

I went through opentuition lectures twice and bpp exam kit twice, and practiced past papers as much as I could. In total I spent around 320 hrs on preparation.

So, practicing a lot is a key to pass.

As a self studier I definitely echo the above advice- I went through OT lectures, then BPP book and P&R, then OT for things that were REALLY confusing (Like deferred tax and foreign subs!), and then just did 3 practice exams under exam conditions. A week before I read all the articles on ACCA and tbh got lucky because I literally read about OCI on the train on the way to exam! But those IME are best left right before, so the content sticks in your mind and you can understand what it’s getting at!

Passed all 8 exams 1st time so far including SBR in June using just OT and revision kits from Kaplan. This exam went horrendous as well, very weird questions I thought. so very surprised to have passed.

    2 more to go!

Expected to fail and prepared to resit but ended up with 66 pass marks which is totally unexpected!
I expected to get maximum mark of 35 with the answers I wrote. I was giving up during the exam and just wrote what I remember without actually answering to the requirements of the questions. Theory is the key to pass. Just link your explanations to the Standards. Don’t waste time struggling on how to answer the question if you do not know the correct adjustments required. For me, I really don’t know how to answer and hence, just chill & simply keep writing whatever theory I remember as I know I cannot pass for sure. Getting a pass is a miracle, getting a pass with 66 mark is totally incredible! Good luck all!
