    Passed with 51%

Very happy to have passed as I didn’t finish all questions and was preparing for a retake!

The sustainability reporting and ethics questions I think got me alot of marks as I remember typing alot of detail there.

But I attempted every question and put something down in each section so it all helped!

Thanks so much to OT! I just used them and Kaplan’s kit.

    Don’t even bother!

I appealed twice for one of my exams as I was 2marks off. It was utterly pointless.

After 4/5th times attempting the same exam and always few marks off, finally passed with 59marks (thank God).

What I did differently this time was change my structure of studying. Pretty much had my old notes to refresh my brain & paid attention to topics of weakness. Throughout the 4/5 times of sitting those exams, noticed financial instruments always came up with heavy points so I made it my mission to truly understand the topic which proved effective this time around.

Continued to work extra hard on areas I wasn’t really strong at, gave them extra time for studying i.e. watching open tuition lectures & constantly refreshing my knowledge by jotting down my understanding on on a blank piece of paper as well as heavily PRACTICING using acca past papers as well as BPP revision kit.

My advice to you is to never give, your win is literally round the corner and keep pushing!!!!!!you didnt come this farrr to throw in the towel now.

53% first time pass! Honestly came out of that exam thinking I’d instantly failed due to the nature of the questions… but so happy to have passed especially with the news that exam centres in March have been scrapped in the UK… onto the next one in June then! Thanks Chris and Stephen, excellent lectures as always 🙂

    Hi All,

Congrats to all who have cleared the exam.

I have failed but I am really really surprised with my result for both SBR and SBL. I strongly believe something is wrong, so I have applied for administrative review. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this before.

Its very disappointing to learn that ACCA does not reevaluate your paper but will just the process etc.

Please share your experience if you have applied for admin review.

    Thanks,
    Muzammil

I am in the same position, not sure if I should appeal. I was really confident, especially for SBL as I did really well, answered all the questions and I got 36. completely shocked.
Let me know how the appeal goes, I have heard that it’s pointless so I am not sure if I should go ahead or just skip and keep going.

I got the reply on my appeal and its funny. ACCA says they have stringent processes in place and make sure that the results published are correct. Basically not accepting that mistakes can happen at any stage of the process.
They just gave pass or fail for each question, can you imagine, not even the proper feedback to the candidate. How you are supposed to remember what was question 1, from which syllabus area.
I request whoever very confident and strongly believe than their result is not correct should raise this to ACCA.
They need to provide the correct responses to candidates if they are taking money for it. Without even rechecking the paper they can’t say that this it, no matter what we will not re-evaluate your paper because we have a stringent process in place.

I’m just wondering if those strong processes and controls are really effective during pandemic when there is a lot of staff absence and everyone working from home. ACCA says that markers check out others markers work and that the whole committee have meetings to discuss the mark scheme. However I have my doubts about the effectiveness of all this these days.
Now that you have appealed you may whish to raise your concerns to them.

Passed with 51%. I thought I had screwed it up specially considering I didn’t attempt 35 marks worth of question.

60% second sitting after getting 47% in September. Both papers were definitely unforgiving!! Glad SBR is over!
