Hi,
I am from Pakistan and about to attempt my final ACCA exam in Dec 2011.I am also registered with the ICAEW as an independent student and have claimed exemptions upto 10 exam papers. I will be claiming further 2 exemptions based on my ACCA qualifications, leaving only the 3 Advance Stage exams of ICAEW.
Also I will be getting my OBU degree in March 2012 with a 2.2.
In O level I got 5 As and 3 Bs.
In A level I got 3As 1CI want to move to UK and start my training there. So, I want to know if I move to UK what are my prospects of getting a 3 year ICAEW training contract with an audit firm?
Also, please guide me about the best possible strategy and timings to achieve my goal. Because in Pakistan there is nothing more than exploitation and despair for very well talented ACCA students/affiliates.
I would welcome answers from people who are already working in UK
Regards,

Hi, going to be very tough. Never really heard of a case where a person from Pakistan has been given a training contract. Things in UK are getting worse by the day.
You are better off going to the middle east and training over there. The prospects are good to and once you’ve qualified you can apply with in a big four to move to UK or else where.
Good luck.
