I spent too much time on the MCQ questions in the first exam. You don’t get reward for more time spent on 2 mark questions. I changed my approach and started with Section C this time and it went much better for time managementAlright, thanks for ur advice

Focus on the theory questions of kit when you practice
Try having a question specific approach when answeringApril 13, 2020 at 1:11 pm #567906@lagmay2811 said:

April 13, 2020 at 3:04 pm #567991Passed first time 70% very happy. Thanks to John for the lectures and notes. After the exam i counted 8 marks that i missed but still came through.
April 13, 2020 at 3:32 pm #568019Gutted. 42% Was my first time just frustrating that June exams are already pushed back and now I am dropping one of those now to resit this in September.
Of course there’s a load of work that goes into this exam, found I really struggled particularly on the pricing questions that came up around p=a-bq and MC=MR particularly solving for a. Got three questions on this particular equation which I was just not ready for. Pretty sure everyone agrees that the questions where you have to select three of the most appropriate for two marks questions are a bit unfair, where if one is wrong then you lose all the marks.
Anyway I wont keep complaining about the fairness of the exam. Although gutted, still feel even more motivated to get it under my belt. Just the current uk situation and June sittings not happening make it a bit more upsetting

April 13, 2020 at 8:26 pm #568097Hi,
I think you should focus more on practice from past papers and Kit (I used BPP books) even you did them all, do them again but in different ways/approaches to see the results. The important thing that might be here is the exam techniques, I guest, including time management under exam condition and familiar with CBE environment too. You should practice all questions (section A & B) first of each topic, especially Section B questions (if your exam techniques are good enough, your pass chance will be more, read and analyze again examiner’s articles to understand this point). Do the same approach to section C questions, this will help you not to be confused with other topics. After that, take a MOCK exam/past papers under exam condition, and review it, find out where you made mistake (it might be lack of knowledge or not be right in understanding requirements being asked for, split them down, understand the meaning of common verbs on ACCA papers. Through practicing you should find out a strategy to deal with each type of question of the syllabus and practice over and over again. These will help you feel better and confident in the real exam. I failed twice at the same results and passed at third only. In my personal view, if you practice in Kit and understand in-depth at 80%, you will pass the next time. In more detail, read & follow the retake guides that are available on the ACCA website. Don’t give up, try again in a different way, good luck!April 13, 2020 at 8:28 pm #568099Hi Ojaymoney,
