January 14, 2019 at 1:37 pm #501768Exam Preparing TIP:
Just practice Past year question papers as many as you can from day one. Stop following theories and going through the syllabus.Try understanding the question first! what it is asking exactly.
When you star with the question it will sprout your mind to ask more related questions.Star with a question you will arrive with the answer and learn it on the way as well as save your time!
This is the most effective Passing tip I can give you!!! 🙂

January 14, 2019 at 3:24 pm #501800I failed with 47. I am devastated to say the least 🙁
January 14, 2019 at 3:33 pm #501801Passed with 82% first attempt.
For those who are asking others how they prepared, this is what I did:
– Went through all of the MyKaplan study videos for each and every topic on the MyKaplan portal. Took screenshots of all the material, and went through the case studies.
– Did all Open Tuition practice questions and watched the lectures on topics I was weak in.
– Did all available mock exams (I even bought some extra mocks from Kaplan).
– Covered ALL of the material (not all in depth but had an understanding of everything). I think an example from the December 2018 exam was the Beyond Budgeting question, which a few people I know were unprepared for. A few easy marks that could have been gained from a small topic of a few pages in the text book.
– Cover the Section C questions in depth in the exam kit. You’ll find they bring a lot more depth to the topics, and gives you a better idea of how to answer the question.
– Exam strategy was Section A, C and then B. I felt this really helped, as you give yourself more time for more opportunities for marks.Hope that helps 🙂
January 14, 2019 at 3:34 pm #501802Failed 49%, 3rd attempt, Just so flipping unlucky!!! thought I had smashed it
January 14, 2019 at 4:53 pm #50183760% first attempt.Going to the profs now.
Also read the book recommended by exam team “The Goal” very good one for insight.
The ACCA 5 day revisioncourses also really helped a lot

January 15, 2019 at 4:12 pm #502106Passed 67% first time 🙂
January 15, 2019 at 9:04 pm #502141It would be interesting to know the break downs of scores versus section C questions…I felt quite fortunate to get the the E’s police forces question tbh, just coz aslong as you knew the difference between the 3 E’s you could get a quite a few marks. The revised budget question was also not too bad whereas transfer pricing was a weaker point of mine I was glad to avoid it.
Would also be interesting to know which questions were the ones that weren’t actually marked on but guessing we never find this out.January 15, 2019 at 9:20 pm #502143@xanpech said:

Thats what bugs me, I would love to know where I was wrong and what could have been better, but I guess due to loads of student, they just can’t write a detailed feedback of the exams.
