Hi, I gave the exam in this march attempt, and what I will advice is that start studying now. The syllabus is huge and you NEED and MUST have knowledge of every bit of tax, you cannot skip anything. This time the exam had lots of IHT, if someone skipped that portion, well it can be said that the chances for that person to pass reduces alot. Watch the OT lectures, the tutor has a good style of teaching, also please make short charts or bullet points of all tax areas for example, in income tax, employment income, trading profit, property income is tested vastly, make short notes about each point, how to calculate fuel taxable benefits, car etc.

And lastly, PRACTICE, you need to know how to get to answers in some shortcuts. When you get used to extracting answers in a certain way, this so called lengthy exam can be dealt with. If I tell you from my experience, 2 weeks before exam, I was a wreck, it felt as if I couldn’t remember any rule, hence I went back to my notes, learned the rules and was able to do the BPP kit with no issue. Practice Section C questions on Excel and word.

    Good luck.

They have constructed response workspace on ACCA website. This is the best way to practice section C questions, not Excel. The functionality of actual exam spreadsheets a bit limited, you have to get used to it.

Goran, surely ATX if that is one of your choices, whilst all this tax is fresh in your mind you can really hit the ground running.

Ryan, thank you for your suggestion, that’s exactly what I have decided to do.
Going for ATX-UK and SBR in June.
