Also, did anyone get a question on what MTD software is used for?
The options (you had to pick 2) were:
    -to pay VAT
    -to submit VAT return
    -to keep digital accounting records
    -to communicate with HMRC

I picked “to submit VAT return” and then struggled to choose between “to keep digital accounting records” and “to pay VAT bills”…

Oh that’s a relief – I picked those two as well! Thank you for that – my study books didn’t have much to say about MTD, so I had to wing that question in the exam.

    Hi πŸ˜‰
I think we were supposed to reduce the gain to “business assets/total chargeable assets” and get the gain chargeable immediately. πŸ™‚

I had one on the capital allowance…not sure it was the same though. Had a bit of a panic on the capital allowances. Remembered there was integral features I put in the main pool but realised it should have been in the special R pool when the exam finished….also realised I had completely disregarded that the 100% FYA had been applied on the 90g/km car regarding the refund dah… should have corrected that…my nerves really hinder my performance on the day. Did the specimen exam and past paper on ACCA before hand and plenty of c questions to time (1.8m per mark) from the kaplan practice kit. Think it massively helped with exam technique and first time I have ever finished the full paper with 5 min to spare. I had a question on terminal losses, think it was a six marker. After the exam finished I realised I had approached the question as an early years loss claim….messed that one up. I am really crossing my fingers I have done enough elsewhere though to break even. There are a few questions that have stuck with me and I am still looking to resolve ahah

I think it went okay on the whole. However, for section A I seemed to have a disproportionate amount of penalty / surcharge questions which I wasn’t too well prepared for unfortunately.

That said, I think I did pretty well for section B and C – just kicking myself a bit over the ‘easy’ lost marks in Section A (unless I guessed some correctly of course!)

Hello. My pc kept crashing during the exam. This is very disturbing as I had to change pc each time the pc had crashed. Although my time left is not being lost, I had to read the questions again to understand it. The exam was very hard btw.

    Hi all

Did anyone take their TX paper today as a remotely invigilated exam?

I took mine but I’m worried whether it submitted….sorry long post coming up

I did all the checks to start and took my photos then was on the screen where it said that they were doing their checks and the exam would start within 15 minutes….then the screen changed and said there was a problem and I would have to re book but then within another 30 seconds the exam loaded. I realised while doing the exam there was no invigilator chat box and my webcam light was off.

I went through the exam and went through the normal exit exam etc at the end and now on my acca it still allows me to launch the exam but when I press it it says check in closed buy shows the time I finished my exam and that it has been taken.

I’m now worried it won’t be accepted, not least because I actually think I did ok!!

    Any others have these issues?

Altogether it was ok.. atleast managed to complete on time which was the challenge for me while doing practice..

Hoping that I pass because I really don’t want to repeat this paper..

Hi, I gave my exams on 15th and got different questions. I also completed the paper in time which almost was impossible when doing mocks. Hoping for a pass, fingers crossed.
