Does anyone know how to complain to ACCA about this via the ACCA portal – i had the same issues about scrolling and also not being able to view the scenario and question at the same time!!!I complained via the exam section in myacca under ‘mitigating circumstances’. My exam performance was affected through no fault of my own, so I didn’t want to just submit a general complaint which may be viewed differently
March 5, 2020 at 3:05 pm #564399I got $25. Revenue: (1000×300) + (500×300) + (500×300) = 600,000
Cost :research dvp 50,000
Bank cost (400×1000) + (50×500) + (50×500) = 500,000Profit: 100,000/4years = $25
March 5, 2020 at 4:30 pm #564428What was the loss made due to the vegan restaurant contract? In my calculations, company was making a loss of about $97 for fulfilling the contract instead of using TPAR. Milk 1st, Yoghurt 2nd, Cream 3rd in ranking. I calculated the TPAR using minutes.
March 5, 2020 at 4:46 pm #564430in which sec. you got this question ? sec C ?
March 5, 2020 at 5:03 pm #564434Yeah I think it was pressing machine time was identified as the bottleneck and there was 200 hours available- this was for variable cost
March 5, 2020 at 5:03 pm #564435Section C question tpar optimum production and linear programming
March 5, 2020 at 5:36 pm #564438The questions were ok. I struggled with Section C because it was so hard to read the question and type the answer in the tiny screen. when I was doing AAT, the questions would come in a pop up window so you could read and answer them with ease. I will write to ACCA and complain about it. I have no doubt that I would have to resit this one.

Think I got the same answer, was Milk in the first column?
I did it a different way though. Got the CPULF and ranked them that way. Second guessing myself now!

Just realising this is most likely wrong and I should have used the throughout formulas. Very annoying, most likely failed now
March 5, 2020 at 7:36 pm #564456Regarding the scrolling, it was much worse today on the FR exam. The text box on the last question was only about 4 lines high. The only way I could actually map out a proper response was to use the scratchpad and then copy it back into the text box.
BUT, I was constantly panicking that if I ran out of time or something went wrong then I would lose the whole answer as the scratchpad doesn’t get marked.
The scratchpad floats so you can view and scroll the information behind.
Only downside is it’s text so doesn’t help with the spreadsheet responses. On my computer at home I can zoom out of the whole mock exam to view more on the screen but that doesn’t work on the Exam terminals. 17″ screen seems archaic now LOL
March 5, 2020 at 8:27 pm #564463Now I’m worried from comments above re the milk & cream question in section c! I also calculated using contribution per limiting factor as I’m sure the question never mention the company uses throughput accounting? Would question not have to Mention they use throughput accounting to calculate in this way?
March 5, 2020 at 8:35 pm #564464Even I used contribution per limiting factor. And ranking was milk 1 cream 2 because of contract and yoghurt 3
March 5, 2020 at 9:18 pm #564472I’m sure I got the same results as you. Fingers crossed we were correct I really can’t remember seeing anything about throughput so fingers crossed
March 5, 2020 at 9:21 pm #564473I think it said the company uses throughout accounting at the bottom of the question. I’m certain I failed so could be wrong
March 5, 2020 at 9:26 pm #564477Does anyone know where to learn about sales price and volume – planning and operational variances? I couldn’t find it in the LSBF text book and don’t recall coming across it in the Open Tuition videos. I had it on the exam and it ruined me
March 5, 2020 at 11:29 pm #564484Was this related to section C question B&C? Or was this tested in section C question A?

Surely should be unfavourable as you under budgeted

March 6, 2020 at 12:13 pm #564536@Vyalden I had a very similar experience, guy next to me kept thumping the desk and really killing the keyboard, was incredibly hard to focus and concentrate. With this and the scrolling issue I definitely think that the ACCA should be giving the option to write traditionally. Sitting an exam on the computer is very different to sitting it written. I will be sending a complaint about losing time over the scrolling and about the issues with the keyboards. Could they not let us sit the exam on two screens? that would make sense if they are insisting on writing it all computer based.
March 6, 2020 at 2:41 pm #564576revised sale was higher it means fav variance.means actual sale was higher then budgeted.
