It was ok but I had time management problem. I don’t want to have assumptions about the results but I will wait the results 🙂
June 5, 2019 at 12:01 pm #519077Anyone has the question about Brake Co outsource discs and collipers? What is your answer for that question?
June 5, 2019 at 12:05 pm #519079Hi huyen
is this question was about make or buy decision ?can you please tell me what were the question tested in sec C
June 5, 2019 at 12:05 pm #519080that’s the problem doing your paper cbe based. the paper was fine but we went short of time because it takes time to type n perform calculations on excel plus the typing sounds all over the room disturbs your concentration
June 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm #519090For me section C had Transfer pricing and Standard costing.
I sort of don’t like transfer pricing so didn’t do well in that but standard costing was fair.it asked to calculate material mix and yield variances and had some theoretical questions on itJune 5, 2019 at 1:11 pm #519095yes I got that one too, I said not to outsource, nit sure if it was right
June 5, 2019 at 1:12 pm #519096was it about make or buy decision type ?
can you please tell me the name of the question
June 5, 2019 at 1:18 pm #519099Well it was ok and balanced paper this time. Not like the hard one last time.
I performed better this time and hopefully i will make it this time.
But as usual time management was a issue.June 5, 2019 at 1:21 pm #519100@maria16 said:

June 5, 2019 at 1:56 pm #519110I had balance scorecard (no calculations) and mix and yield variances as well as performance assessment based on variances
June 5, 2019 at 2:56 pm #519122thank you for your all free offer
June 5, 2019 at 3:31 pm #519131I can only say I tried. But very disappointed in myself.
June 5, 2019 at 4:20 pm #519155Same if I had been a bit more prepared the paper would have been a breeze. It’s a learning curve (which did not come up *sigh* lol) you never know. Hoping we’ve done enough
June 5, 2019 at 6:04 pm #519178I had 1 question about Incremental Budgeting and ZBB and the other about the Balance scorecard.
There was very little calculation which I hoped there would be more of but hope I did enough.June 5, 2019 at 6:18 pm #519182So at the question about transfer price, 2 of the costs they said were variable and semi-variable. Did anyone use High Low method? I can’t remember exactly what amounts I got but I said 10,000 units at £24 – minus any costs savings in distribution and admin stuff (it ended up like £22.18 or something) and 30,000 units at Marginal Cost because they had spare capacity. And the buying division I said they wouldn’t pay more than they would pay externally.
June 5, 2019 at 6:22 pm #519183I had a very fair paper all in all. Section C was a lot of writing tho with ZBB & scorecard.
Did anyone get the question with the current ratio in section A. It was 1.6:1 and then they said 30% was inventory and half was sold at 100% markup what was the new ratio? And it mentioned something else i cant remember.
I put 1.84 but wasnt sure if that was right? Anyone else know what they put?
June 5, 2019 at 6:28 pm #519186Yes I used the high-low method too, think it gave me the variable costs of $6 something which then had a 150% markup, so i adjusted it for that. And I done the same as you, the selling and distribution costs were $1.67 and 80% of that minus the $24.
i also said that the 10,000 units should be external as it is cheaper than internal. However, the remaining 30,000 units should be produced at between $21 the external price and the variable cost plus mark-up. However, I also went onto say that their current pricing strategies should be modified as a 150% mark-up is unrealistic.
June 5, 2019 at 6:33 pm #519187Thats a really good explanation you’ve given Antonia. Thanks the reply 🙂

Because it sounds like we had the same exam…did you have the question about the concert in Part B? If you did do you remember if the margin of satefety was 85% or 86% I can’t remember exactly :))

I don’t remember the companies for section B, but I had variance questions with the Mix and Yield, EV and maximin and maximax and also an ABC/absorption costing question.

I am not confident that I did well on that question.
June 5, 2019 at 7:26 pm #519209I had these section c questions as well-TP and mix and yield.
Were your section b questions incremental budgeting, target costing and cvp?June 5, 2019 at 7:40 pm #519214Hi
I think I had the same question
It was easy to say that 30k from SD and remaining 10k from outside supplier for $21
But my transfer price was (vc) which wa 9.70 =24-9.70=14.30 if the group wants to maximise the profit as whole
June 5, 2019 at 7:42 pm #519215I got 22.19! Hopefully it’s right
