Hi Jaswanth,
Which book did you study BPP or Kaplan? Self study?
I didn’t come across any question with redeemable preference shares interest .
December 10, 2020 at 11:28 pm #599298BPP, even i didnt come across it,, its just my guess as in accordance to ifrs 9 financial instruments. And i find so many questions in this exam which are not in BPP, i thought BPP alone is enough to crack the exam and im confident with my preparation however, the exam was a disaster.
I find so many concepts new, i struggled to answer revenue questions in section B as well and very much confused over Ratio analysis question i literally change my answer 4 times for the analysis couldnt able to come to any conclusion.
December 10, 2020 at 11:29 pm #599299For the persons that got Python Co and snake Co in section C, what was the consideration in terms of shares paid? The question didn’t specify the amount of shares exchanged neither did it say how much python co shares were worth. I struggled because of that and had issues calculating goodwill because I just wasn’t sure of the total consideration paid other than the $1.2 per shares acquired in Snake.

Hi Navneet,
When I just started the exam the SBR Students started typing the answers very fast and furious it was funny I couldn’t concentrate on my exam panicking.
Laughing now. I couldn’t concentrate on my exam too noisy. First I refused the earplugs then after ten minutes I realised I needed for my concentration.Because our FR exam we have to read our question carefully without any disturbances.
They should not mix the SBR Students with FR Students. Not a good idea.
December 10, 2020 at 11:33 pm #599301Does anyone remember in Bike co ratio analysis question if the disposal resulted in gain or loss

Hi Jaswanth,
None of the questions are exactly the same question from books. But the Knowledge , Skills and Techniques acquired to answer the question I think not entirely there on the books.
Always more to learn and think and Figure out.
December 11, 2020 at 1:14 am #599304This is the 1st time of ACCA exam. I don’t know whether the exams is the same or differ for each candidate. My exam’s main content is lease, revenue, NCI…for section A and B. Section C is preparing SPLOCI and SOCE; and the other relating to analysis of consol group with the disposal comparability.
December 11, 2020 at 2:16 am #599309Rowe 992,
I had the same issue on the shares thing I just used the price per shares by the number bought based on no of shares they had (75% of), which is why I think my goodwill was wrong but I’m hoping for marks for calculating the other points like consolidated reserves and adjustments.
December 11, 2020 at 2:43 am #599311Yeah I mean at least they could have made the question a bit clearer as it relates to the share exchange on acquisition. I got thrown off and spent too much time on that question and failed to finish the other section C question about Box co.
December 11, 2020 at 2:45 am #599313I got the Cheese company paper.
ROCE were similar but the gross profit and net profit decrease. The coy expanded business in budget market in 20X7, hence selling price decreased but cost of sales no change. The coy has plan to expand further into the budget market, this could eventually eat up their profit from the luxury market. Cost of sale increment is more than revenue in turn of %.
Administrative cost increase mainly due to professional fee. So I think the coy have to keep their staff turnover low in order not to incur further expense.
For expansion, I suggest to use retained earning and issuance of new shares or rights as compare to bank loan. Shareholder should support the move with good plan. Bank loan not recommended as they already have increased loan as compare to 20X6.
Suggestion for the coy: improve their sale on the luxury market as that is where the profit is coming from. Get cheaper but goos quality product from other supplier in order to expand into the budget market segment.December 11, 2020 at 2:48 am #599314Last question got a loss in the consolidated statement of Profit or Loss… hope that is correct.. haha
Had not come across part B of that question, do not know how to comment of that portion.December 11, 2020 at 7:33 am #599335@rowe992 The amount of investment for the share exchange was in the non current assets of the parent company individual SOFP and I think it was 34,000. Total consideration paid would have been that plus the deferred consideration.
December 11, 2020 at 7:58 am #599338i got this question about grant related to ‘other income’
i selected the answer as
dr. accrued income 56000
cr. other income 56000
what did y’all write?is it dr bank 4000
cr. other income 4000?December 11, 2020 at 8:05 am #599340pjashu1995 wrote:I got ratio analysis but on Bike’s co company disposing scooter co
me too
for the same question, what did u get for the gain for the disposal in group accounts?
there was no NCI if im right isnt it?December 11, 2020 at 8:06 am #599343and for the 9m included in cost of sales for agency sales, did you minus it from cost of sales?(for the last question which included agency sales)
December 11, 2020 at 8:55 am #599351anyone got the foreign exchange questions in section B.. please did you multiply or divide the 750,000EUR by the closing rate?? and the 500,000 EUR in the second question
December 11, 2020 at 8:55 am #599352yea.. minus it from cost of sales
December 11, 2020 at 8:59 am #599353Lol, same thing happened to me. I got really confused as to why there was so much typing until l realised its the SBR students ?????

I subtracted it from cost of sales
December 11, 2020 at 10:20 am #599380@Jovitha885
I reduced it from cogs and i got profit of 3.9 mn for disposal how much you got
December 11, 2020 at 10:25 am #599386@ruby67 i multiple the fx, but im not sure with my answer for that question it was time consuming so i didnt work out answer for that question properly
December 11, 2020 at 10:38 am #599391@jovitha885 for govt grand question i think the answer is,
dr other income 56,000
Cr deferred income 56,000as we need to show only 4000 in other income, so we need to reduce 56k from other income and increase that in deferred income.
December 11, 2020 at 11:25 am #599401Jovita885 wrote:i got this question about grant related to ‘other income’
i selected the answer as<br> dr. accrued income 56000<br> cr. other income 56000<br> what did y’all write?Initially
Bank DR 60000
Other income CR 60000Grant is for 5 years plan and for current year only 4 months relevant.
So you need to make adjustment journalOther income DR 56000
Deferred income – CR 56000December 11, 2020 at 12:43 pm #599414I had the same exam version as you and I have loss from the disposal 600(Sale proceeds-Goodwill-Net asset at date+NCI). In the next question you had to respond to the questions of CEO, why the profit for the year was so low despite the fact of the subsidiary sale. I think it is somehow connected.
Concerning the previous question(31) with the SOPL at the end of the exam I have noticed that proceeds from the rights of share issues(share premium) were allocated to the Revenue and it has to be deducted.I think that question was one of the toughest one on the F7 exam from couple of years.
December 11, 2020 at 12:58 pm #599421@Pjashu1995 I mistakenly divided the 500,000EUR by fx for the second one.. time had gone before I realized the rate was 1EUR=$$
got same question for section C.. got loss on disposal of 0.6m, found it difficult on the CEO’s comment cause there was reduction in profit and revenue while Gross profit margin increased.. it was difficult connecting together
I computed 1,500 for the share premium which I deducted from revenue, there was 1 for 4 rights issue correctly included in the share capital.. in SOCE, used 12,000 for opening share capital, 3000*$1 for share issues in share capital and 3000*$0.5 for share issues in share premium.. wrongly included dividend paid in SOCE instead of finance cost
