Hi all. I’ll be sitting ATX in the March Session which is the first paper for me to be assessed by PBE. Just wanted to know is there anything that i should be aware of? Also what about the answer sheet that’s provided to answer the questions. Are there any restrictions to start writing the answers in the first 15 minutes?
February 23, 2021 at 7:37 am #611394Are you sure? Looking here https://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams.html the only ATX exam available in March appears to be ATX-UK (though I did not select every variant) and that will be CBE. The variants I checked are not available until June.
February 23, 2021 at 1:15 pm #611440I am actually sitting in Oman and CBE for Strategic Professionals will be implemented from June-21. So yeah I’ll be sitting a paper based exam. Will be grateful if you can guide me about the original query. TIA for the concern.
February 23, 2021 at 1:38 pm #611442I see CBE commences from June in Oman but still don’t understand how you can be sitting a paper-based ATX exam in March.
For paper-based exams there is no restriction on how you use the extra 15 minutes – you can start writing as soon as you are told you can start writing. You must stop the instant you are told to stop – which means you must ensure you complete the frontsheet of the answer book and indicate which Qs you have attempted (hopefully all) before the time is up. You must write within the indicated margins on each page and put the Q number reference in the box at the top of each page. You must read the instructions on the frontsheet which will say, for example, that you MUST start each Question on a NEW page. You don’t need to start each part of a Q on a new page (but many students do). You must answer in BLACK ballpoint. If a 20-page booklet is not enough (but it should be – prize winning scripts do not need to fill a booklet) you put your hand up for the exam supervisor to bring you an extension booklet.

February 23, 2021 at 3:04 pm #611446Thanks for the guidance. Just one more thing. Do they provide extra time to read instructions and fill personal information in the answer booklet?
And i can’t see why you can’t understand that i am sitting ATX-UK as a PBE in March in Oman. My examination docket also confirms this. What confusion you have regarding this.
Thanks for your time.February 23, 2021 at 3:17 pm #611447Per the link I provided I can only go by what it says “For paper-based exams only:”
The details to be written on the frontsheet are minimal – I don’t think extra time is given for that – once you start writing you start writing – you will have to ask ACCA directly or students on the relevant ATX forum. If you have read the instructions before hand it should not take long to read if there is no specific time for this.I was going by the first link in my first response – when selecting ATX variants it indicated that ATX-UK is available in March only as CBE and all the variants I selected did not show a March option – I see now that ATX-MYS is available as paper-based in March – perhaps this is what you are doing.
February 23, 2021 at 9:52 pm #611476Well thanks for the guidance. Just for clarification I am sitting ATX-UK and it is available as PBE where CBE is yet to be implemented for Strategic Professional Exams.
