Re the Q2 occupancy benchmarking, the data they gave was enough to calculate that the occupancy rate for the competitor was 72%
Also you could calculate that their planes seated 250 compared to 100 seats on Fyvie planes, which had a big impact on the environmental impact partDecember 9, 2020 at 10:32 pm #598956The NFP question for Q1 certainly surprised me, but the principles behind linking CSFs and KPIs to mission remain the same, also the NFI section was not too bad.
League tables come down to “what gets measured gets done” and the conflict between the league table measures and the KPIs, and then the potential impact on behaviour which I split depending on whether DP would be high or low in the tableDecember 9, 2020 at 10:39 pm #598958I got questions:
1. Kaizen, JIT, ERPS – Kaizen costing – I felt my answer wasn’t expanded enough, anyone else have the same problem? Not sure whether the calculation part for implementing JIT was regarding NPV as I seen WACC but I totally disregarded this. What did people put for the limitations of implementing JIT?
2. ABM was so so – anyone anything to add on this?
3. Benchmarking drawbacks – focussed on the different sizes of company’s and how they was not relative to each other. Found the press release question nice.
December 9, 2020 at 10:43 pm #598959I had ABM as question 3, could have done with 10 more minutes, but the first part was straightforward
I felt like my answer to the second part was the only weak part of my paper as I didn’t really have enough time to link properly to the caseDecember 9, 2020 at 10:50 pm #598960A fair paper. I read the examiners report late the night before and say the previous exam was on a Public Service entity for Q1.
Q1. Dealt with CSF and KPI, Value for money, League Table. Why CFS differs from the objectives. Explain Value for money and link with the CSF and KPI, also assessment of the performance table, The use of NFPI and its appropriateness to DP and finally the difficulty in implementing the League Table for the Deeland Police.
Q2. Disadvantages of Benchmarking using the occupancy level and comment on the Press release statement and its accuracy when compared to the results on performance
Q3. Perform a calculation of variable cost of the two products and analysis of the ABM cost pools and the issues with implementing ABM at the companyDecember 10, 2020 at 6:14 am #598988Was labour cost given? Or just the percentage of the time they spent in each activity?
December 10, 2020 at 6:45 am #598993Tough paper- Time constraint- I got the police for QU1. All these models and study area and only 5% is tested. This examiner is getting less and less predictable. The pass rates will be low for sure.
December 10, 2020 at 8:09 am #599008What was the cost of the boots for Q2?

I got Police CSF and KPi at morning exam ?Mine was the Police one too. I have to say I started a little panic when I saw different people not mentioning the police question lol
December 10, 2020 at 2:06 pm #599092Didn’t answer the last question.. chances of passing? Fairly sure I got at least 35 in q 1 the kaizen JIT 6 sigma & ERPS right up my street.
Anyone have detail on what the put in for the benchmarking q?

December 10, 2020 at 4:28 pm #599121Got police one here as well.. Paper was so so.. could not complete.. last ABM part I just could not even start.. so 16 marks gone there. Hopefully did well in others – let’s see.. fingers crossed. Benchmarking and occupancy was straight forward- police one was slightly tricky.
December 10, 2020 at 5:30 pm #599151Anyone else struggle with calculating the savings on staff costs for the shoe factory? It listed total staff costs for each dept then said they were reducing warehouse staff from 8 to 1 which was fine, but then it said IT was increasing by 0.5 people and other depts were increasing by 0.75 without giving original numbers of staff? Or did I miss something??
December 10, 2020 at 5:56 pm #599170In police question we were given cost of police higher than admin cost including police cost , I got confused as how can admincost including police be lower than police cost and struggled to calculate wages/cost per police staff and wages per admin staff. Can someone tell me how was it worked out ?

I got Police CSF and KPi at morning exam ?We have different papers at the same time and location. I had NFPO police department, but the girl that was sitting just behind me had Six Sigma. After exam she told something about Six Sigma, but initially I didn’t realize what she was talking about. Only after reading comments here, I understood that she had different question.
