I agree! It was so time pressuring and so difficult to think with so many boxes up on your screen!

This was a fair paper. No major or tricky calculations. Although I did run out of time slightly near the end and missed out on 9 Marks. I just pray that it doesn’t come back to bite me in the backside come results day.

I was little confused to find evaluation of Police CSF and KPIs. I was expecting evaluation of reports, EVA, balanced scorecard etc.

The first and third case studies seemed quite similar to the ones from the Kaplan exam kit. Overall, it was okay. Although could’ve managed my time better. Let’s hope for the best!

I also had the below questions:

Q1 Kaizen, JIT, Six sigma, ERPS
    Q2 ABM
    Q3 Benchmarking

What did you guys write on the benchmarking question? a) was about the drawbacks of benchmarking based on capacity or something. It was worth 12 marks, so I wasn’t able to come up with so many drawbacks, mostly wrote that the companies compared might have different business models and strategy, but I am pretty sure I failed this question, as I ran out of time. Then the second part was about some press release statements, really had to rush this question.
In general, I found this paper to be extremely challenging not because of the topics examined, but because of the information included in each of the questions, it was a lot 🙁
On JIT I found the annual benefits exceeding the costs, did the complete calculation including and excluding the one-off costs and benefits.
Then for the ABM, I remember I had unit costs for the first model much lower than based on the traditional overhead allocation; for the second model boots, the overheads were much higher based on ABC…

    I had same questions:

Q1 Kaizen, JIT, Six sigma, ERPS
    Q2 ABM
    Q3 Benchmarking

Very challenging and no time, I was not able to do much on Benchmarking. and I didnt even touch ERPS

I did the UK paper which was

    NFP KPI
    league tables

    ABM

    Benchmarking

I found the sums for the activity based costing question really simple, just apportion the costs based on the ratios provided. I’m not used to APM being straightforward…have I missed something…

For the benchmarking question it asked about occupancy and supplied it as a % but the question stayed it was calculated by KPM * MILES TRAVELED. which didn’t make sense how they got a %

    I just stayed different strategies
They were looking to remove seats ( therefore reduce occupancy)
They did shorter flights so would need to fill the plane twice
waffled abit as tan low on time on this question.

The drawbacks on benchmarking was that pkm was not a good measire but although it seems like out comoany F was doing bad but they were providing cheap services short distance with more flights than D. So i suggested that since D flies less flights and fills up more people in one plane for longer distance flights, it wasnt a good conparison. Also for co2 emissions, it changes based on how much weight u carry. So F carrying little amount of passengers and lighing say 10 flights a day vs. D carrying more passengers with 2 flights a day, it may look like F has lower emmissions vut not in the total. So bad comparison. Then mentioned something like 92 percent claims to receive the service they wanted. It may look like people may complain about “extras” but what if food quality is higher as opposed to D giving it away free “included” in the more expensive ticket but bad quality or somethibg like that. Needs more verification, data and calculation. Also 2 star vs 5 star may be biased. More info needed.

How did you perform the calculation in Jit point in Q1? What did you write in 6 Sigma question? Did you refer to DMAIC?

I found very hard Q1 due to many requirements instead of normal structure question while you can easily get easy marks on the assessment of the report that Is completely missing. Only referral to the objectives was done for Kaizen.
