don’t have time to study
Just do exam by experienced and logicMarch 4, 2019 at 5:33 pm #507498First question need a lot of study and complicated.
March 4, 2019 at 6:12 pm #507519It could go either way. I would not be surprised at all if I failed… and would only be a little surprised if I passed.
March 4, 2019 at 6:20 pm #507520It was a fair exam. If you used your time wisely there was sufficient time to answer all the questions
March 4, 2019 at 6:41 pm #507522It was ok, mostly. Comfortable pass I suspect but not super high.
Question on auditing the investment company of the client was unexpected, I had no idea on that one. Nor capitalising advertising, although it was possibly not suitable for capex for other reasons anyway.
March 4, 2019 at 8:07 pm #507534What about the directors wages – can be set by the finance manager?
Could the internal auditor function be by itself an audit risk in case they lack due diligence-experience and independence?
Sometimes, I have set two test recommendations in one answer – if one is right and one is wrong, how they would mark it?
Thanks for your timeMarch 5, 2019 at 7:07 am #507614it was FAIR .. the multiples were tricky !
Hope we pass .. All the best
March 5, 2019 at 7:47 am #507630I wrote more at the first attempt and exam was faild with 2 marks. I think there is not OK for the maker, if the student answered more to insure hisself from the possible wrong answers. E.g. – the task was to write only one answer, scored by 1 mark. The questions have options to choice. To write more to get additional marks is the sign for the marker, you are not strong in AA.
March 5, 2019 at 10:19 am #507688Does anyone knows if the AA CBE and paper based is the same exam?
March 5, 2019 at 12:10 pm #507726from the sounds of things I don’t think it was

I am hoping for the best this time. There is never time to finish ACCA but time strategy is the way forward. I have failed twice 47 and 48. This one again i did not finish as usual and I just hope the answers I wrote is of more quality to give me that 50 that’s all I am concerned about at the moment.
The MCQ was better than December 2018 diet from my observation but still tricky, that scenario of MCQ I cant deal just more time wasting and the theory was a lot. I hope we all come back to say ‘WE PASSED’. All the best

When are we expecting the result? does any one have an idea..
March 5, 2019 at 3:46 pm #507796Did anyone have the MCQ that was something like:
Lawyers have said it is probable to lose the court case. The likelihood of having to pay out the courtcase are as follows (for example as I can’t remember 100%):
20% chance of paying $100,000
45% chance of paying $200,000
35% chance of paying $50,000And asked the value of the liability missing in the FS?
There was an option of $200,000 (as most likely) or the expected value calculation (using the above $127,500).
Is it correct to use the expected value formula here? Stumped me a little in the exam!
March 5, 2019 at 4:19 pm #507807I used expected value no idea if it’s correct or not!!
March 5, 2019 at 4:22 pm #507809Did anyone remember under what items the questions of Substantive Procedures was asked.
ThanksMarch 5, 2019 at 4:35 pm #507815it was a fair exam

An expected value is a long-run average for a repeated outcome – it is not appropriate for a one-off outcome (the amount is “impossible”). Based on this example, the most likely outcome is the best estimate of the liability.
March 6, 2019 at 3:05 pm #508057It was good as in for once was able to attempt all the questions.
March 7, 2019 at 9:57 pm #508449Hi everyone. Planning on giving AA in June, any tips or ideas on how to tackle this exam.?

I took AA just this March. I cannot still say the outcome as the result is not yet out, but the exam is a bit more manageable than the revision kit.

Hi
did you finish the notes and lectures and then started the revision kit?March 9, 2019 at 9:23 pm #508851I just used open tuition and other free online resources. Didn’t bother with a revision kit as I find past papers are enough. My exam was similar to those available via ACCA.
My time is usually four weeks of study (watch videos), four weeks revision to better understand the materials (notes & other online resources) and four weeks on practice questions and past papers (as many as I can find).
