Alhamdulillah passed P7 with 65%. Those who passed many many congratulations and those who failed don’t give up. I made several attempts before and always failed with 49, 48, 46.
I was very worried, but last time in the last few weeks before exam … I did combine study with my friend. Always on phone. The main points that i learned were, which i would like to share.
This is just my experience,1- Make an attempt on past papers, it is extremely necessary. Your answer will be never same but u will learn too much. You will learn to manage time, time management is extremely important
2- use auditing terminologies, very important.. whenever they ask for evidences, must make use of words in sentences like: obtained a copy of, analysed, observed, evaluate, recalculate, inspect minutes of board meeting, enquire of management. etc.
3- Try to attempt optional questions first, because the entire scenario of optional questions has to be fully understood with peace of mind, then u will be able think and apply proper standards and answer them properly.
4- Try to attempt the first question in the very last. Once scenario read, u will be able to write much more in short time but in optional questions with less time in the end, high pressure, difficult to think properly and write an appropriate answer.
5- Also try to learn accounting standards (IAS) and Auditing standards (ISA) titles. Even if you confused with the standard application to scenario but you know the standard title, u can score mark for that, at least you can score for writing for audit evidences if asked, at least you can write this for every audit evidence, recalculate for arithmetic accuracy , enquire of management, review minutes of board meeting for the relevant issue,
6- you must study chapter auditors report, forming auditors opinion.. small chapter but u can score easy marks..
7- Honestly speaking, everyone has the knowledge but sometimes don’t understand the techniques for making an attempt for P7 paper. This always happened with me.
8- you must read questions carefully, especially first question.. what it is asking for, audit risk or business risk, is this new client or it is an old client,
9- What i learn that every time I made attempt. I always satisfied that i will pass but it failed. Now i feel my knowledge was strong but its application in accordance with audit language was every weak, so i always failed by margin. …
This was my experience that i shared.. I may be wrong.. for that my apologies but it may help some of u..
Have a nice day..
I especially thank opentuition because this forum is always very helpful and i got most material from here and learn exam techniques for this site…
July 17, 2017 at 7:20 am #396787I started preparing for exam in April after the march results came out . Never used the the text as I felt I didn’t have much time . Made use of the opentuituon notes, lectures and lots of question practice from the exam kit .
July 17, 2017 at 7:40 am #396799I too got 49% and have similar questions about paying for a review.
I have no idea how likely it is to make a difference. Anyone on here done it before?

July 17, 2017 at 7:55 am #396812Failed P7 but passed P5.
Last sitting i also failed P2 with similarly low marks to P7. I will resit P2 and P7 together as they are both very similar.
Thankfully my mark was low enough to know that i simply do not know my standards enough. For those of you who failed with 49% i feel for you as that means you know your subject but just missed one point. Thats got to be the most frustrating position to be in.
Next time 🙂
July 17, 2017 at 8:10 am #396825ALHAMDULILLAH, AFFILIATE NOW, IT WAS REALLY A LONG HARD JOURNEY, BUT ALHAMDULILLAH FINISH BY THE BLESSINGS OF ALLAH…….
July 17, 2017 at 8:38 am #396850@suzid & @schoolsin
I also failed P7 this time round 🙁
I have paid for the exam reviews in the past on other papers TWICE before (2yrs apart, in case they had improved), and they really are a waste of your time & money, as all they did was re-confirm in writing the score that I’d been given literally on the same day of sending it in.I was even hoping that they might attach or send a copy of the exam paper to look at (since they combine the sittings now of past paper Qs so you don’t see them all) as the Review mentions it can pin-point areas or sections that you need more focus on, but it didn’t at all!!
PLUS without access to the actual exam paper, how can you remember the detailed scenarios & specific questions asked to remember the areas to focus on – so I found the Review process very mis-leading in terms of what you actually get from it! (Of course I knew I had failed, but I just wanted areas highlighted for focus but just receiving the 1 word re-confirming = FAIL really was not helpful).I did email them afterwards just to make them aware of my disappointment in their process & being mis-leading with their wordings used & they just apologised that I felt that way – but that was it!
Hope this is of some help to anyone thinking of the Review route!
Even though I desperately want to just give up, as I feel I’ve not got much fight left in me to continue, I never will, so will keep on going & pushing through!
It’s been a long, hard road personally for me to get this far, so I will defo be booking to resit my P7 in Sept17 this afternoon – fingers crossed for this time!!Good Luck to you both and any others who have failed this time round….. you will get there!
July 17, 2017 at 8:51 am #396866Guess the link theory and the acca e-business were correct for me. Could not access the link and e-business stated student. Failed with 40 pts.
Will have to resit in Sept too.
Good luck to all those who were not successful this time, never lose hope as it is the end when you don’t believe in yourself and let things be. To all finalists that did not get through, we are only 1 paper away from the satisfaction of being Chartered Accountants so take your courage in both hands and let us just make a formality from this and never forget your failures coz that will make you stronger.
Congrats to all those who made it through, now the PER remains and the CPD after that to maintain your membership, the journey is not over yet, same as the learning process!!!
Take care everybody and see you soon, hope for better news!!!July 17, 2017 at 8:52 am #396867passed 55%, HUGE RELIEF

The link theory definitely works.
July 17, 2017 at 8:58 am #396872congrats.
how did you do that? please share.
UsamaJuly 17, 2017 at 8:59 am #396874Thank you for the reply. It does appear to be the case that administrative reviews are pointless. I have never heard of a positive outcome.
I wondered if that was just that people without any success are more vocal about it, but it really does appear to be a futile exercise.
Onwards and upwards I guess. Will hopefully pass it next time. Good luck to you too.
