July 18, 2016 at 10:36 am #32691189% cant believe my eyes π
July 18, 2016 at 10:40 am #326915Pass with 67% Shocked. There were times when I started panicking in that exam but just took my time and ploughed through.
July 18, 2016 at 10:59 am #326927I finally passed… honestly im so grateful this sitting was really tough, didnt expect to pass when i left that room was really annoyed with acca for an unfair paper
Goodluck to everyone who was unsuccessful this time, this was my second attempt, Keep trying!

I did work for me………………..given some other remarks earlier today, I did have my doubts.
But I am very happy now – I really can’t concentrate to do any work today πI got an error page on that link and could still buy practice tests but passed both of my exams.
The link means nothing overall in my opinion.
July 18, 2016 at 12:36 pm #327022Congrats for a great performance.. am attempting for the 2nd time in December.. can i get your advice on how to answer the questions despite feeling i have the knowledge of what is being asked i ended up not passing.
July 18, 2016 at 2:07 pm #327153Failed with 49%, so disappointed. Has anyone ever had an admin review done on their paper and had the mark changed ?
July 18, 2016 at 2:22 pm #327164Hey, I feel your pain – i got 49% as well. It doesn’t seem like they ever pass anyone with the admin review. I’ve been toying with the idea all morning though.
Are you going to do it?
July 18, 2016 at 3:50 pm #327211Pass rate was 35% for P6, very tough.
July 18, 2016 at 7:00 pm #327322To be Honest, No. the marking system is pretty spot on.
July 18, 2016 at 7:01 pm #327324I thought 49% was a Myth! that’s harsh!
July 18, 2016 at 7:55 pm #327352Four attempts & failed with 46% these options are ridiculous!!! There is no way in the world you’d be expected to deal with tax queries like the exams… I shared passed exam questions with my friend who’s a Tax advisor not only was his response are you serious but he’d charge Β£4000 for the level of details needed & he couldn’t do that without referring to “resource” such a shame you get this close & start to regret your decisions!!
Those that have passed well done & what revision techniques can you offer?

Sorry, I’d have to disagree. The June sitting was very much like something you deal with day to day. Forecasting when payments on accounts are made, advising whether to increase inventory or buy assets, dividend vs bonus, capital gains for individuals etc etc. Not sure where your friend is coming from?
Also, revision tips – complete as many past exam papers as physically possible but focus on the written elements. There are really easy marks for ethics that are repeated every sitting.
July 18, 2016 at 11:10 pm #327429The trouble is, it’s hard to go over old exam papers as they are all out of date now, with different thresholds and limits and rules etc.
It’s impossible to use them properly now unless they are re written to use with the new rules π
July 19, 2016 at 6:23 am #327476The revision books are updated every year, so even old questions have current rates.
Some people ask for strategy. My was simple – study hard. I started preparation to P6 in December. I knew that if text book has 1200 pages I would need 3 month for reading it.
I made my plan and stuck to it. 10 pages every day trying to understand and to remembers as much as possible. When I finished with text book I made another plan. I did one passed question every day for next 2 months. Also watched opentuition lectures from F6 (very useful to remember basics) as lectures for P6 are not available enywhere for free. Last four exams I did under exam condition withing 8 days before the real exam. Throughout that 6 months I kept reading pocket notes on tricky parts and not examinable very often. So generally my strategy was studying about 1 hour EVERY day for 5 months and then increase the intensity in last last month spending EVERY free moment with P6. Exhausting…I work so my 1 hour was every day during lunch, as I was too tired in the evenings.
I have also family and all those daily chores. But I have to admit that my husband helped me much and I couldn’t do it without him.July 19, 2016 at 6:38 am #327484Hello every one,

July 19, 2016 at 8:11 am #327510PEOPLE WHO HAVE PASSED THE EXAM… could you please share your notes with me or any advice to pass the exam?
khalepoto@gmail.comJuly 19, 2016 at 9:03 am #327559Passed with 81% (UK paper) on first attempt, and only started studying towards the exam in May!
I work full time too and was sitting P5, which sadly I failed by 3% so I think I took too much work on in such a short space of time.
P6 can be done, just make sure you commit a few hours at least every other night to do plenty of question practice (time off is important too – don’t give up the things you enjoy, you need time out too), make notes/acronyms for the criteria for things like SSE and any area you struggle on, do a whole question without peeping at the answer during it, you will learn so much more doing it this way, even if you get things wrong it is the most productive way of learning as you will be less likely to make the same mistake twice!

KhalidHi
I advise that there are no notes/lectures available (at least free of charge that I am aware of). You will have to purchase a current study text (given that FA15 is now being examined). Along with a revision kit and past papers you will be well equipped to self-study and pass the exam.
Good luck
