Thank God I’m done! At the Second attempt, I Passed P5 with a 55, the most popular mark on this thread. Here’s my journey so far.

    X indicates times
    P3(8x). P2(6X). P4(4X). F7(4X). F6(4X).
    F8(3X). F9(2X). F5(2X) P5(2X). P1(2X).
    F1-F4(1X each)
I even saved the PDF from myACCA …..lol
    Total exams Registered 41
    Actual sittings 37
    Diets / dockets 19
Speed 0.74 paper per diet or 1.47 paper per year
    Pass to sittings rate 37.84%
Total payments till date £4,117 (initial reg, annual subs, & exams)

    Notable events:
From Dec 2012 to June 2014 – four diets or two years – 9 sittings – total failure!

    Initial Registration date August 2007
    First sitting December 2008
    Final sitting September 2016
Did it take me 8 or 9 years?

Wished I could write more. To those with multiple attempts at some papers, please don’t give up, @Cpy002 I’m impressed by your doggedness …ten gruesome attempts! please try to complete your ACCA story, you are there already!!!! I’m grateful the 10 year limitation rule has been changed.

Hello, i have read many comment and post but i pick interest in your case.

I qualified after Dec 2014 Exam, however, i supposed to have qualified since 2009 but P5 delayed me because i wrote P5 10 times, that is twice a year for 5 solid years.

Today, my story is different, therefore, never give up but keep on trying. I can understand how you feel because i had similar experince but now i am HAPPY and got a very good job same month i qualified.

Friend, DO NOT GIVE UP BUT FIGHT ON. You may take a break from the next diet. Finally, pray and believe God. I am available to assist you in any area because i am interested in your case. Bye

    Dear cpy002,

I’m sorry to hear about your situation. I totally understand how you feel. I’m here just to give you a glimpse of what I’d been through with the hope that it could help with your journey.

I passed my P5 during last June. Guess what? It was my 15th attempt. 15!! People don’t have to tell me the countless emotional cycles, depressions, nervous breakdowsn and etc. But Instead of giving up I just decided to persevere. Why not just another seating at a time. Who knows that one day would come. And turns out it did.

Some suggested for me try another the paper, honestly speaking I love this paper the most. The knowledge is crucial for me to become a key person in the management (gratefully I am now). Some of my friends changed and passed, but I just won’t. My P5 notes was from clean new turns out like a stale vegetable at the end of it.

Now anything special that I did this time? No. My previous was even better but only to know I’m short of few marks for pass. I just came to know that I passed when I was about to enter for the next seating. That many fails that I no longer bother on the results.

Once the reality kicked-in that I passed, it is then that I felt it was all worth it. Although most of my friends passed much earlier, I believe I learned a much bigger lesson than them. It made me a better person than if I were to passed it first time. Making me more emotionally mature in handling my life, family, work and etc. That was truly a valuable lesson that I would never forget. So best of luck with your choices, I’m here to share anything if you need.

    Regards,
    Z

@nehal15 – I cleared my p5 in the first attempt. I used BPP’s study text and PNR kit along with heavy reading of the technical articles. It’s important to understand that for p5 the expectation isn’t to rewrite a particular model, but rather give suggestions and give pros and cons of certain methods.

Hence, it’s very important to have a clear understanding of businesses to have clarity on this subject.

    Happy to help.

    Best,
    Sanket
