Passed P5 on my first attempt, and now am done and dusted with formal studies for awhile. I switched over to P5 after failing to P6 – Adv Tax 3 times and only registered for P5 at the last minute, The Open tuition notes and support helped me tremendously as that is all i referred to besides past year exam papers which helps to build up your exam style. Dont give up to everyone else still in progress as it will happen for you too. Open tuition and past exam papers really helps. This ended up being a very enjoyable paper as i applied alot of my work experience in answering the questions.
October 17, 2016 at 8:17 am #343962Passed with 55 marks at 7th attempt. Finally completed all papers. For those didn’t pass do not give up!! Hwaiting!

Last exam doneOctober 17, 2016 at 9:57 am #344101I was failed my P5 for 10 attempts, sitting this paper since 2012.I was failed with 45 to 47 marks from 1st attempt until this sitting of September 2016. of course my heart was broken many times and try to not giving up. P5 is my LAST paper to complete my ACCA. I was putting a lot of effort on this paper but still fail. I was looking forward to pass P5 which is last paper since 2014, Unfortunately, I still can’t meet my aim to become an affiliate. Hence, I decided to give up from today.
October 17, 2016 at 10:09 am #344113Sorry that was my 5th attempted
Last one was 48 this time 10 marks more
58
This sitting I concentrated only on past exam questions to understand what’s been asked
Also practice in an exam style environment
Time was a big factor for me before
Worked for me
Don’t give up

Please don’t give up. take a step back and review then go in head on. you are almost at the finish line.
October 17, 2016 at 11:20 am #344173Passed with 65% first attempt after switching from P6. I used opentuition notes and videos and basically followed the advice given to use an approved provider’s exam kit and past papers.

Finally an affiliate at 55%.
October 17, 2016 at 11:33 am #344187Never give up my brother. I also got 43 in my second attempt and my last paper. It’s very painful but there is end in sight. I wish you the very best in December.
October 17, 2016 at 11:34 am #34418961 at first P5 attempt! I was left with 1 last paper from the last two years. I attempted p6 and was not able to clear. Finally I decided I needed a break and a new subject. An affiliate finally.

To cpy002 please dont give up.
If you dont want to sit P5 in the ACCA you can get an exemption from it if you do it in the new MSc in Professional Accountancy from the University of London. Click the link below.
https://www.londoninternational.ac.uk/courses/postgraduate/ucl/professional-accountancy-msc-pg-cert
You will then have to do it in the masters as part exam 75% and part coursework 25% . (Something like that).
Try it! Dont give up! U now have another option.
October 17, 2016 at 1:16 pm #344240don’t give up, try the exam as if you were CEO, and try to figure out the big picture, answer to the point, don’t write irrelevant sentence, then you will secure a pass. try next time. I believe your Malasians have no problem with English, so time mgt would not be a problem.

October 17, 2016 at 1:51 pm #344276Passed 55% with my 4th attempt. finally affiliate!!!
October 17, 2016 at 2:08 pm #344282All Done. Praise be to God!!
October 17, 2016 at 2:10 pm #344283This was my 6th attempt at this paper what I believe was key in passing this paper besides prayer was attempting parts of the question with the fewer makers first. This would help accumulate marks under the time constraints and when you have finished attempt the parts with the larger marks. All in all trying to stay within budgeted time. Don’t give up keep fight the fight.

A heart breaking 49%. Second attemptSame here I keep checking to see if they sent wrong email. I mean couldnt they have found something there for the one mark?
this ones going to wait for last, still planning on sitting something else for the next two sittings and come to this in June
October 17, 2016 at 2:40 pm #344298Consider changing your exam technique and get someone to mark your paper. Attempt parts of the questions with the fewer marks first then tackle the other parts. I failed 5 times don’t give up.
