I am giving up on this paper.. After reading the marker comments and the answers I don’t see anything wrong with my answers and the way I approached the paper. I have done 13 exams and passed at first attempt . With P5 I have failed 3 times. I have paid 3 times tuition fees, exams fees.. and time. I don’t know what the examiner wants. I have read and read his comments .. and still cant get what I did wrong. I hate you P5!

August 5, 2015 at 3:27 pm #265683What a lovely pass rate for P5 28 %. Alex made historical record. Enough failed 4 time goodbye to P5. Time to think about P4 or P6? ??
August 5, 2015 at 4:36 pm #265695this is hugely frustrating :(, 4th attempt and fail again with 49 and I felt this was my best attempt ever. I must be doing something wrong… frustrating not get feedback on the areas of failure so not transparent..
August 5, 2015 at 4:48 pm #265696How on earth will an examiner approve 28% pass rates on p5… The examiner must be enjoying this….considering p7
August 6, 2015 at 8:11 am #265781By Grace of God I have passed my exam with 50 marks. Congrates who passed and don’t give up who failed the parer. This was my 4th attamp. 1st i booked with BPP fulltime, 2nd Kplan online, 3rd Kaplan fulltime and 4th time self study.
I tried to write everything. Time management is the key as this paper is to lengthy, so stick to the time, don’t over run.
P7 is more harder than P5 as I tried P7 4 times and took P5.
I have always used BPP materials for other papers but this paper I think Kaplan is much better and understandable. I just did past exam papers and pocket notes.
Good luck to everyone.August 7, 2015 at 2:14 pm #266080AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

August 8, 2015 at 1:47 pm #266244I have written this P5 exam so many times_ more than 8 times! I have still failed to reach the pass mark. Can someone who passed this paper at the JUNE 2015 SITTING kindly tell me what approach they took 1) preparation/studies 2) in the actual exam i.e. which question they started with and why, whether they attempted all the questions 3) the best way of dealing with Question 1-compulsory. 4) issues of speed reading and writing 5) which topics to revise from previous papers especially F5 6) issues of handwriting 7) a personal experience why you think many students fail this paper/”the secret to passing P5. Take note, I have read all kinds advice about what people should be doing, I want to know what YOU did for you to pass. PLEASE HELP!

i think people fail this paper, because its fluid. It so scenario specific and there isnt any ‘correct’ answer, however there are answers that are ‘correct’ for the scenario in question. Students who over practice are prone to repeat some things which might not be valid answers. Students who dont might be overwhelmed with the information presented to them. The balanced group, those who practice and apply themselves to the question are those who pass. Challenge ur answers while writing, it gives you more points to write and shows the examiner that its a well thought out answer. Never igonre the professional marks, its 12.5% of a pass mark

4th attempt. failed 40%. this is my final paper not sure how to proceed. should I switch to p7?
I need some advise as I think I have exhausted all attempts
August 11, 2015 at 10:17 pm #266809I failed P5 with 36. It was kind of disappointing as I enrolled in tuition, revision class, mock exam and Question based day and took 5 days off work before the exam, plus the many hours of study after work and during the weekends.
I have paid for the exam sitting in September but not sure if I am ready for it since it is just a month away. I think my weakness is thinking about the scenario too much, hence wasting a lot of time in reading rather than writing my answer. Also, under exam pressure, I am not able to express my answer professionally on the writing paper.
P5 is a nightmare for me, but all I can say to myself is keep going, since I never give up in all the stuff that I have done in life.
Good luck everyone. Don’t give up for those who are resiting for the exam.
