Passed p4 with 65% and P1 with 79%. I feel so proud of myself now. Enrolled in August, gave my first exam in September 2016 and gave my final two exams in September 2017 and that too without any tuitions, just with the help of open tuition notes and videos and Kaplan question banks. I feel so happy and satisfying. I know how much hard work I had put into this qualification while working full time 9 to 6, being married with a child of less than a year.My advise to everybody would be to be sincere in studying and spend couple of hours studying everybody and success would follow you.
Still cannot believe that I have become an affiliate.
Best feeling
can’t believe it, you are superman/ wonder woman

October 18, 2017 at 1:01 pm #412273Is P 4 hard comparing to P 6 ? Someone who set for both please advise. I passed P 7 easily and it seems that wordy papers ( F8, P 1, P 3 , P 7 ) are less difficult for me . I passed F 9 for the 4th attempt in Dec 16 and have retained knowledge from last year. F 6 was Russian variant , so I will need to study F 6 and P 6 UK altogether but I’ve seen that P 6 has much higher pass rate than P 4. I do not work in bank or financial instituion but in local tax consulting not UK.
October 18, 2017 at 6:24 pm #412334Failed with 40% on my first attempt. Will take it again in March 2018, hitting P5 in Dec 2017.
Well done to everyone who passed; P4 is not the easiest subject.

I do not work in bank or financial instituion but in local tax consulting not UK.I sat both P6, and P4. I passed P6 second attempt, and passed P4 first attempt with 60% (Sep 17 sitting). On that basis it would appear that P6 is trickier for me, but I think it’s largely due to the luck of the questions. Having said that, I found the recent P4 paper much different from any I’d attempted in the practice and revision kit. I think the key is to understand exactly what’s being asked of you, particularly in question 1, because often is not at all obvious.
I found both papers interesting to study, which was the reason I chose them. Bear in mind, P6 is not covered on Open Tuition, so if you’re self studying like me, you’re on your own!
October 19, 2017 at 12:22 pm #412461Passed and now also an affiliate and awaiting membership.
My 2 cents having passed most first attempt bar this module. Cover the entire content of the this subject. It sounds simple but actually its the small details in the chapters that help with the understanding of what you need to do. And do questions, questions, questions.
I did P5 as my other elective and passed reasonably well first time but the way to approach this paper is totally different which I found out the hard way.
Also, time management, think everyone who has written this paper will agree… its very time consuming especially Q1. Stick to allocated time and just move one. Give yourself the best chance of passing by doing every question. Remember they mark with your mistake in your calculation if the principle is right.
Good luck to everyone writing P4.
October 24, 2017 at 10:28 pm #413105Pass 52. Thanks OT.
