    a) Was dividend capacity calculation and how much they would need from subsidiary
    b) Financial benefit to company of taking dividend from sub and potential problems
    c) What agency problems would be caused and how could they be avoided.

I know b) and c) were five and six marks as I was running out of time.

    Many thanks cgreg

Was the Q1 (b)(i) asking for normal NPV calculations ?

“Estimates the value of Project E, assuming that Ruva Co does not delay the decision of whether to undertake phase two, but makes the decision at the commencement of phase one of the project”

I am too nervous now as I have missed lot of information to be included ..and also I left some 20 marks straight due to time was up as I couldn’t finish my paper ..

I really don’t know what is going to b the mark allocation

Same here, left around 20 marks, especially the Q4 swaptions never attempted it at all, hope the mark allocation techniques they use gets me a pass

This was my first try of any P paper. I was very nervous. Felt blank at the start of paper. But then composed myself and started writing.
I think i have not done enough to pass.
But still looking for a miracle. Lol
I am going to give it again in September.
    I attempted Q1 Q2 Q4
I tried to writ littlr bit for all. Even for those q I didnt have any idea about like Swaption one. I wrote my assumptions. I know I will fail but Still looking forward to result as to know how Much marks i get for what I wrote.
    Anyways good luck all

    Hi Roxana,
The answers are normally released around the same time as the results so around mid July normally.

It seems that P 4 is much harder than P 6. Could someone who has taken both of these papers tell me which one is harder to study and pass ? I failed P 6 UK two times and am thinking to switch to either to P 4 or P 5 . I passed P 7 easily from 2nd sitting . It could have been done in the 1st try but I need to blame myself .

IMHO, go for P4. Can’t speak for P6 though. P5 is a monster.

To be fair the exam is not too bad but as usual I spent too long on question 1 …anyway the discount rates used was 9%. I used APV to valuate phase one and the NPV was negative. I then used 5% as suggested in the scenario by the CFO to discount phase two and add the two together as the answer for Q1 (1).

Too late to discuss about it, what will be will be!

The 5% for initial investment as suggested by CFO??? Please reply

Correct me if I’m wrong but the only question that was actually on the exam is question 3.

This is the Mar/June 2018 paper and it’s different from the one discussed in this forum. They were referring to the June 2018 paper.
