Sample March/June 2017 questions have been posted on ACCA site: https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p4/past-exam-papers.html
Only the bond question of June 2017 appeared. The other three were all March 2017.
June 14, 2017 at 2:04 pm #393139hi! Yes I’m asking about q 1 π
June 14, 2017 at 2:10 pm #393141The ACCA website only publish March 2017 question, so there’s no way we can know about question 1 of June 2017. ?
June 14, 2017 at 4:20 pm #393156Its so annoying. We will never get to know the answer to that monstrous Question 1.
I would have loved to see the examiner’s answers, just to see how they estimated the number of shares to be exchanged.

exactly! i would love to clear up share for share exchange calculations because the question states that share for share exchange will be based on additional value created (as far as I remember).

March 2017 questions are not published yet. So do not expect who sat in March 2017 to have memorized the questions there plus if you have failed in March 2017 where would you get the correct answers for March 2017. I’m pretty sure only the chapters covered were the same and this will be always like that but never the questions will be the same.

March/June 2017 sample question has just been published. Please check the link I posted.
I only sat for June 2017 exam and I noticed that only one question from June 2017 paper was featured in the sample March/June 2017 so the other three must be from March 2017 paper.
No way they would take questions somewhere else and put them online as sample March/June 2017.

Guys seriously, did you see the March/June 2017 Hybrid paper on the acca website? Number 1- 3 questions are from the March sitting, and only number 4 is from the June siting. This is not fair, they should have at least put 2 questions from each sitting..How then do we revise

I’m very sorry Duc…Thanks for the information…I didn’t understand this was already published…and actually I agree with everyone saying that is not fair to just have one question from the most recent sitting.

June 18, 2017 at 7:30 am #393419How can you be focused on theoratical part of question with out doing numerical right?
What if you stuck in numerical part due to time pressure then how can you answer the theoratical part?
Completely disaster ( Time management is a key to success)

I think ACCA should have published the Q1 Metaxi & Darma from June 2017 attempt as this was the one which was the most difficult and out of the line question instead of publishing Chrysos Co of March 2017.
Dear John, Can we get the Metaxi question and answer please?
Best regards,
Saad
June 19, 2017 at 10:49 am #393472i tried emailing acca to get help and answer for Q1. but they are not helpful at all !
June 19, 2017 at 1:30 pm #393490if only they could allow us more time for this paper we could make it. The challenge is they put in a lot of information and calculations to make life difficult for students to pass. There is no way one could write a report and comments without calculations within such a short time. For P4 3hrs and 15mins is only supposed to be for question one (the 50 mark question). Those that pass this paper is just by mere luck or chancing. ACCA need to change the way they set this paper

Again you need to remember, is not about to get 100% correct in each section, is about writing something in each section. You only need 50 to pass.
When I have done section B and a) in Q1, I have only 60 minutes left.
It’s clearly I will not able to complete all the requirements.
So in order to write something in every section, I just ignore some figure although I know there is something to be adjust.
I believe as long as you demonstrate the ‘direction’ (or concept), you should be able to gain most of the marks (perhaps at least 50% to earn me a pass)
Again it’s important to complete the report to earn 4 professional marks.
A good time management and preparation is key to pass.
June 19, 2017 at 2:37 pm #393496Also go to read technical articles numerous time until you enter the exam hall.
In June’17, there’s is already 2 related technical articles:
1)bond (15 marks)
2)Delta hedge (Delta to calculate number of put option to buy) (5marks)AND
Basically P4 have 4 areas to cover.
1) reconstructions
2) acquisition merger
3) investment appraisal
4) risk managementInvestment appraisal and risk management is something you can pre-learn, so practice many times then you will be able to do it fast in exam.
This will enable more time suppose that particular sitting involve 1) & 2) which in my opinion the question can be twist and need more time to digest.
June 20, 2017 at 8:51 pm #393628Helo freinds,i have got a negative npv of about 2500m in Q3,anyone else who have got a neg npv

@Tan;have u attempted q3,and ur npv is negative or positiveHi Khan, FYI my npv is positive 7xx
It could be wrong as I taken the 80m increase in working capital in R m instead of $ m.
(+)
My increase in sales is by 1.25^n which could be just multiply of 1.25.
Anyway the working will earn most of the marks so don’t worry on the final npv.
June 22, 2017 at 8:18 pm #393843June 22, 2017 at 8:35 pm #393844@tan hmm i know that marks are allocated for steps.i have one more Q.i have heard from some group members that u must have to pass each and every question in optional papers.i means that a student has to pass Q1 i.e 25 marks from 50 and other two optional Q.

However, doing every section does increase the chance of passing as you probably can’t assure you would get exactly 50 from section B alone.
