Gideon please spill, with working full time it is almost impossible for me to sit more than two papers at a time. Well done on your fantastic results. Please advise house on success tips!!
February 9, 2015 at 1:41 pm #227339Loads of practice safrazhisam, I spent more time practicing than studying new techniques and it was all self study. Learning your theories is KEY. Group acct accounts for only 35marks so don’t spend whole time learning groups. Grasp the concepts and study other topics. All the best ok. Chin up we will conquer soon. π
February 9, 2015 at 1:50 pm #227343I don’t really think people like me that just passed can really give advice to people that just failed because the margins of errors are so small.
If I had failed, I would repeat P2 straight away in June and I would be doing the following:
1) Take P2 in June
2) Get all IAS’S summarised now
3) Get all written articles by examiner together including those in CPD section of ACCA website.
4) Practice all past questions when 2) and 3) done.
5) Keep doing 4).Regarding another subject, take the classes this semester and consider doing that subject in September which allows you to focus on P2 on its own in June and it gives you 3 months to revise for the other P Subject for september.

Congrats to everyone who passed, unfortunately I didn’t. It was my first sitting and I went down on technique I think, lot more question practice and I will get it in June (positive thinking).
I would be grateful for advice on whether to take another subject with P2, either P6 or P7?
I have only the three left and I work in practice..
Plan would be to self revise P2 and take lectures for either P6 or P7..
Does anyone think this is a bad idea? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.Respect P2. I would suggest P2 and P7 as they go hand in hand due to the IAS standards
P.S. DO NOT Disrespect P6 either.I have heard stories and they aint good ones. A word is enough for the wiseβ¦.

That’s what I did and having to cover standards in the way you have to for P7 really helped with P2. This is a good idea
February 9, 2015 at 8:19 pm #227452my advice is know your self, sturdy with examiner’s report on past questions, give each paper 1 month prep and above all ask GOD for wisdom

absolutely over the moon about this result, never wanted to revise that exam again!
Was a bit lucky that the CSFP came up because I’d only revised that one, if it had been the P&L or cash flow statement I’d have failed without a doubt.
February 10, 2015 at 10:42 am #227584Thanks everyone for your advice, it is much appreciated!!
alainna85 I would be grateful if you could let me know what your study plan for sitting P2 and P7 together was.
Thanks

February 11, 2015 at 2:58 pm #227868Passed finally on 5th attempt. So many high fails and some not so high. It is all about persistence and positivity. You learn something new from every session. So glad it is IMO
Ps. I know if you failed there is nothing worse than reading the comments of people who passed but the only way you can really fail is to give up!
