April 18, 2016 at 6:24 pm #311445Hey I failed this module to, i know how you are feeling, got 46% on first attempt even though i revised all notes. Who is your tuition provider?
I think mistake i made was to use study guide only, the key to these papers is to have a revision kit with practice papers and time yourself, this will hopefully work for p2 for me in June.April 18, 2016 at 8:01 pm #311478Thinking about June
April 18, 2016 at 8:02 pm #311480First time pass, 70%, using only OpenTuition materials & my professional experience and having spent maybe 8-10 hours on exam preparation for each one as work has been busy. I also passed P3 with 65%, same story. I’m a 39-year-old mature ACCA student and will sit my last 3 P papers in June, having sat my first F paper in June 2014 – so just over two years end to end, at the same time as sustaining a busy job managing a team in the civil service. I have only ever used free OpenTuition manuals/flip cards plus a few BPP £10 flip book things, passed everything first time and my score average across 11 papers is 77%.
I understand that the younger, less experienced students find chartered accountancy qualification hard, but my experience of this process has proven that it is not actually that challenging for someone in my circumstances, and good finance people with a suitable breadth of experience are comparable in capability with the top echelons of formally qualified accountants, never mind the majority of qualifieds who have struggled their way through it. I always thought us QBEs were not rated fairly in our industry, and now I know I was right.

F7 and P2 are related, basically F7 is the foundation for P2. While in F7 you will do the consolidation (cash-flow) of 2 companies, in P2 you will consolidate several subsidiaries and associates, so it become more complex.
P3 is a an amazing paper, just theory that needs to be applied to the scenario.
Personally I found P2 more challenging and demanding than P3.

Keep trying although sometimes I really want to quit. I have failed p1 so many times since 2010. I did try very hard to kill off this paper in Dec15 but hardly believed that I failed extremely low and unfortunately failed other times with dreadful mark from 47-49. Surprisingly this time I passed 58. Not quite sure if it’s helpful tip but I look at the answer with analysis from the marker who points out some common mistakes or comments on low mark’s candidates to learn from failure. Good luck to all of you!
April 20, 2016 at 9:50 am #311857@MikeLittle – I did not observe that – Thank you. I guess i should be doing F7 and P3 ! Lets hope i pass through this 🙂 Thanks
April 20, 2016 at 1:50 pm #311900Passed on first attempt with 62 marks. I use only Opentuition and it’s my first time to use it to prepare for my exam.
Thank you very much Mike!April 21, 2016 at 6:41 am #312006I fail the P1 exam, I got 42. What is the best way to revise for this paper because I will be doing my resit in June. Thank you.
