Thanks Wallace! There most definitely is a lot of writing. I would suggest question practice, I used the Kaplan exam kit. Also, remembering each model and linking it to each area of the syllabus. A lot of it is common sense. I think I planned my answers well. Sticking to time is important too, I only managed to answer 80% of the paper. Hope that helps!

thanks for your advice i hope i can finish the study text within 5 to 6 weeks n 3 weeks for questions. Besides i found out it seems not too much to memorize as p1, since as u say it requires a lot of comment sense.

u realy did great even without complete the paper lol i wish i can do the same 🙂

After some pain and disappointment in March (48%), passed P1 with marginal improvement. Phew. 13 exams down one (P7) to go. Not sure if I will sit September as only 6 weeks away but I would very much like to be Affiliate going into 2018.
My own journey has been long and hard with many family sacrifices over 10 years! My advice……even when you feel like there is no end in sight, it will come eventually. Never give up on your dream. Good luck

Those of my friends who are not able to pass this time rememer that at times Life may knock you down badly BUT the key is to pick yourself up and fight again and again until you succeed. At one time i was so demotivated that i left ACCA with 11 papers knowing that i won’t be able to complete it, but resumed after a long period of time with new determination and ambition and qualified the remaining 3 in first attempt. Keep fighting.

    Hello Jasmin!! Thank you 🙂

To be very honest, I shunned the textbooks as I didn’t have enough time to study (Hardly studied for a week) and switched to some online class materials . I understood that P1 did not require much of book work as it is a very ‘general’ paper which can be aced with good application technique.

The KEY is to apply the concepts to the SCENARIO and link them well. Plus, keep in mind the VERBS. You should structure the answers based on the verbs. I guess it pays to quote relevant real life corporate governance/ethical issues as well as I clearly remember citing some cases here and there. Most importantly, PRACTISE as many past questions as you can. That’s more than enough to crack P1.
    Cheers 🙂
