Happy with my 59% first attempt 2 left hope the best for me and all
January 17, 2017 at 10:28 am #367890Passed with 54%, second attempt. Of all the three papers I sat for, I was so certain I would fail this one because the Section B questions had similar requirements and I kept on repeating myself. I dont know where the marks came from.
January 17, 2017 at 10:48 am #367892Passed 1st time, delighted, hard work pays off. To those of you who didn’t pass it, get back on the horse immediately, don’t let it become a mental block!! You can do it!

Don’t give up write it again.A little tip to help you in your next attempt: APPLICATION.
That word helped me pass P1. Book knowledge in the exam is only about 30% and you’ll know when you see something like define, briefly describe, give differences, what are/is – it is usually the first phase of the question and two or three lines are enough to answer that question.
The APPLICATION aspect is always the second phase of the question and it is not what you have read from the study text. The answer is extracted from the scenario. This is where you draw marks. Take a question paper and look it: the first phase may say briefly describe………………, and the second phase may say discuss the advantages and disadvantages of ……………., now this part must be tailored to the scenario not the lists that may have been given in the study text. Therefore practice and understand the questions and the question verbs.

January 21, 2017 at 10:58 am #368666Hello
Alhumdulilah ……..Just Passed my F7.
Need some advise ……
* I am a part time student doing full time accountant job also.
* Can I attempt P1 instead of F9 . I have already passed F8.
* I want to attempt P1 in March-17 Attempt. Is the time too short or good enough for the attempt?
* What could be the best approach to pass P1 in such a short time scenario ?
* Should I rely on OT notes & lectures only for upcoming attempt ?Thanks & Regards
January 22, 2017 at 8:32 am #368835I totally Second that O:)
January 23, 2017 at 10:51 am #368954You can only sit a P paper if you have sat all of the F papers, unless you only have one F left and you sit it together with a P paper. For instance I sat F9 with P1 in December, however I would not have been allowed to sit just P1 and then F9 at a later date.

Hello samh88, please can you give us a few tips on how you passed p1. I’m attempting it soon also. Thank youI’m not really sure how I passed, I was sure I had failed as I only managed to complete about 3/4 of the paper but somehow got 60%.
Definitely do exam questions. I didn’t and of had have done I probably would have done much better.
Also make sure you read the technical articles, I got lucky that 4 of the more recent ones that I read actually came up in the exam.
And remember that just having the knowledge isn’t good enough you need to be able to apply it to the situation. You will get at least one question that is not like anything you have seen before and so you need to be able to apply your knowledge and figure put what they are asking.
January 24, 2017 at 5:48 pm #369355Thank you so much, what’s the technical article and where can they be found?
