ACCA MEMBER – Thanks OpenTuition

I am finally an ACCA member. My journey started over 2 and half years ago when I decided to study ACCA. Finding OpenTuition on the Internet has truly been a blessing for me. The resources it provides is immensely valuable plus it’s free. It saved me a lot of money using the free resources. I did get three exemption for studying AAT. I studied for all the ACCA exams using OT resources except for advanced taxation which I had to self study using Kaplan book. All the OT lectures has helped me understand the concept better and the notes were brief and up to the point to learn what is important. I used Kaplan exam kit to do the additional practice as required.

I have taken one exam at a time so I could give my full attention to each subject as I was working full time and struggled many times to keep up with my studies.

I passed my final exam this month and then completed my PER objectives. I wasn’t sure how to complete it but various posts on OT did guide me how to complete these. Once you do one, it gets easier to do the rest. It’s all about writing your experience based on the guidance provided.

ACCA is a long journey and many times we feel demotivated as students, facing so many challenges in our personal life. Yet whenever I was down, didn’t had the feeling to study, I used to browse OT forums and read posts of other students who were in the same boat as me who managed to complete ACCA one day. So many stories were inspiring. Reading stories of other students motivated me to complete my studies. Many who are reading this would be in same position as I was. I would say keep going. Focus on one exam at a time. Success and failures are part of life, don’t worry about the time it will take to complete the course, time will pass anyways and one day you will get there and the feeling is amazing when you get the congratulations email from ACCA. Being a Chartered Certified Accountant is a feeling to be proud of. Believe in yourself you will get there one day.

I cannot thank OT team enough. All the tutors are amazing. Huge thanks to John Moffat, Ken Garrett, Chris, Stephen, tax tutor Colin and finally Kim Smith whose post I have seen multiple times helping other students which by reading helped me many times.

My ACCA journey is not over, it has just begun.
