Hi @alkemist!
Would the the certificate/diploma say “academic direction is ucl”? I was wondering what the actual diploma/certificate says.
Thanks a lot!
KylerMay 7, 2018 at 6:16 pm #450494Hi @jerma, you can apply for membership online by logging in to your ACCA portal after meeting the requirements. You don’t have to wait for ACCA to invite you to apply for membership.
Hope this helps.

August 24, 2018 at 3:14 pm #469248Hi,
Is anyone doing or has completed the Mcs at UoL under Pathway 2? I would appreciate if you can share your experience. I would like to know if there is enough material available to pass the exam succesfully. How are the lectures, if there are any, and how is the enrolment process? Are the exam comparable with ACCA exams at professional level? How many hours should I plan for studiying on a daily basis?
Thank you.October 16, 2018 at 8:14 am #478707Hello,
I’m going to register for the Msc Professional Accountancy (Pathway 2), January 2019 itake.
Is there anybody who is already a student and is willing to share his/her experience with me.Thank you.
October 17, 2018 at 1:52 pm #478922Hmmm
I need some clarification, if i did the MSC after completing SBL as i already have SBR, i would technically be exempt from doing P4 and P5 and i will only have to write the exam in December after doing course work during the year which means i will probably be better equipped to pass that exam in any case after studying for a year with better guided information
November 9, 2018 at 9:32 am #484269Hai All,
Would you suggest which one to start with SFP or GIFP
November 25, 2018 at 11:28 pm #485972Hello, I am planning to register under Pathway 2 and I would like to know more about the strategic financial project? Do we need to apply the modules to real life scenarios and undertake research, maybe at your workplace? Like a dissertation? Or what kind of project is it?
Thanks!

December 8, 2018 at 5:07 pm #488492Hello everyone,
I have recently sign up for the Msc in PA under pathway 2 for the January 2019 intake.
Based on persons that have completed same they mentioned its a tedious course and u have to put in the necessary time to succeed. In addition , there is a lot of reading required and the papers are excerpts from various journals written by professionals.
I am starting with the Global Issue for Finance professional module. Is there anyone else doing same for Jan 2019 and anyone who completed willing to share their materials?

December 25, 2018 at 8:32 am #492662Hello,
I have recently completed MSc with merit and would like to share my experience for the prospective students.
SIFP:
This module consists of one course work and a final project.
Coursework:
This section of the module expects a student to have gained reasonable insight and ability to present a proposal for conducting an academic research study on a topic of their choice. The study material provided by UoL will guide the students to learn the structure and contents of such a proposal.
key: The requirement section of the coursework, which will be released approximately 1 month before the last date of the submission of coursework, is the most important piece of document a student must be referring constantly while he/she prepares the coursework. It is important that the proposal should not miss each of the requirement given and should be in sufficient detail. Although, a student is free to chose the format and structure of the proposal as long as the contents covers the coursework requirement, this section also provides an indication of the structure and format of the proposal a student may wish to adopt.
Final Project:
This is basically build upon the prior learning as regards to business/investment plan we had gone through in our ACCA studies. Students will first be exposed to a practical world scenario as a preparatory course leading to the completion of final project. This is done by creating students into groups with a maximum of 5 students in each group with the task of estimating the business plan for 5 years. This plan will be then compared with the actual results that the tutors have and each group will be ranked based on the best financial parameters, mainly ROCE. Each year of planning is done one by one starting from a week and each week is equivalent of one year and this will continue for 5 weeks before the Final project requirement is released. The group will be created by the Tutors and students’ geographical proximity with each other is considered for better communication between group members.
Please note that this is simply a simulation exercise and has no bearing on the grading of your final project, although each students’ involvement and dedication in the given study program may be closely monitored.
The final project is a case study, where the requirement will be mostly to prepare a detailed business plan including the financial estimations for 5 years. UoL will provide the financial spread sheet with past figures for us to work on.
GIFP:
This module consists of two course works and one final project with topics mainly revolving around BASEL (Banking), CSR, IFRS and the final project M&A (Mergers and acquisitions).
There is no group activity for this module and all the submissions are purely dissertations. Please note that the key to secure a pass is how much you understand the coursework requirement released and work on your answer in line with this requirement.
The key requirements as explained above in SIFP is relevant to this module as well.
Other key requirements for both Modules:
1. The ability to write essay with reasonable coherency in English is the key in both modules. Grammar, spelling and correct referencing, all will have a bearing on your final grade. Your writing ( 4000 to 6000 words each submission) should hang together as one piece, while you discuss various aspects of the topic throughout the essay.
2. Yes, you have to read lot, as you will have to refer journals for ideas and may reproduce the references and quotes from these journals to prove your point. However, it is not possible to read all the journals that may available for the topic to , but you can swift through it in order to understand the concept of the journal. The best way, in my experience, not to read a journal fully but still to get the concept and idea is to start with the conclusion and focus on the sub headings.
3. Beware of copying other’s work, UoL has an impeccable system to identify whether or not the work is your own.
With reasonable dedication and focused reading an ACCA student can definitely secure a pass, as the study material and tutor help and guidance provided by UoL is reasonable enough for a student to prepare for the final submissions.
Best of luck for all the students

January 20, 2019 at 9:04 am #502738Salaam Imran,
I’m new to this course of Professional Accountancy. I would like to request for the samples and materials if you still have them. I have enrolled for the GIFP module and honestly am a little overwhelmed by the amount of information to process in the limited time, hence a source of reference will be really helpful.
My email address is mehreenmushtaq5@gmail.com. Will await your reply.
Thanks and regards
