I am about to complete my O levels on May/June this year from my school. I am currently looking forward to do A levels privately along with FIA as well. After completing FIA i will be looking forward for ACCA. After completing my ACCA, I am looking forward to go for ICAEW. Now I would like to know that what I have planned is it really good and is it really going to give me a properous and a successful career ? I do know that doing FIA with A levels privately will be a quite burden on me but is this really going to give me a successful career in accountancy ?
FIA is a good start and allows you to progress towards full ACCA.
However, after ACCA I would advise you not to go for ICAEW. The qualifications overlap too much for that to be worthwhile. However, that decision is quite a way off.
ACCA does open the door to prosperous careers in accountancy and it is a widely recognised qualification. The main problem you will have is getting your first job in accountancy. Most employers want experience, but you cannot get experience without a job. However, most people succeed eventually.
Good luck with your plans.
what would be my starting salary after I complete my Acca ?
Sorry – no idea. Depends on employer and country.
Look at job ads.
