    Passed 2nd attempt with 64.
    For my first attempt I studied with another website (which I paid for) and I barely knew a thing when I took the exam! I didn’t know how to calculate WACC, no real understanding of financial management, didn’t have a clue how to hedge exchange risk etc etc. Needless to say, lesson learned, I won’t be using them again!

    Thanks so much to the open tuition team! Excellent service πŸ™‚

    I used the BPP study text, exam paper answers, revision kits from Kaplan and BPP.

    I tried the mock exam from Becker and it was the worst paper I’ve ever done in my opinion. There were lots of errors in it. Same goes to LSBF.

    First started out on making notes on each chapter by summarizing the BPP study text and then practiced the questions- for any answers that were not found in the study text I would copy them down in my personal notes too.

    Then took a month to memorize the notes.

    I found that one of the MCQ in this exam (on contract futures) was the same as one long question from a past year paper. It may look difficult to some who have not done that long question but it did not to me.

    The asset beta formula question in section C was the same as another past year question too. The one on trade payables, including the discussion question on it too.

    This shows that the paper F9 likes to recycle certain questions.

    In my opinion you have to cover everything above in order to do well in the MCQ. I hated the MCQ so much.

    Make sure you understand whatever you have memorized too. Good luck πŸ™‚

    53% – 6th attempt. Hard to do with young family and fulltime job but dedication and exam technique is the key.

    I got 29. I just hated the MCQ’s

    Please advise where I could practice these.

    I am comfortable with the study material.

    I am able to answer a longer question, but just panic with the MCQ’s.

    @tehminaa

    Do you have an up to date revision kit from an approved publisher?

    They contain many MCQs to practice.

    You will also find some here in OT.

    @marxdonzooya

    47, suggests it is more exam technique than knowledge. Did you learn the whole syllabus? How did you find the Multiple Choice? Did you finish the whole paper?

    If it was the multiple choice you found difficult, I would recommend after you have looked at learning the syllabus, you get an approved publisher’s exam kit(they are like Β£20 in UK), I tend to use Kaplan but BPP and others are available. This should help you to understand and tie together small areas that students tend to ignore and given it is weighted 60% multiple choice, this could be quite useful.

    @tehminaa

    Some for each chapter: https://opentuition.com/acca/f9/f9-practice-questions/

    A revision mock exam, the computer generates questions, so each time you get some new ones: https://opentuition.com/acca/f9/f9-revision-mock-exam/

    Study text is not enough for revision, you need a revision/exam kit.
