October 19, 2015 at 12:10 am #277146Sonyam11 just wait for your email. No point assuming anything!
Got 71%! Delighted! ? Second attempt so anyone who doesn’t fair well, back on the horse And see you in December!
For me I’ve found it hard to start work when o wasn’t sure what exam I would be working towards, so P1 starts tomorrow ?
October 19, 2015 at 12:55 am #277202It seems F9 is one of those subjects you have to at least fail twice. I finally passed with 62% after finding the exam a complete disaster. Well done to those who have passed and those who have not just keep trying. 🙂
October 19, 2015 at 1:03 am #277204Passed with 60%. Can’t believe it. Felt it had gone terribly as well.
October 19, 2015 at 1:08 am #277208@ sbarfoot what materials did you rely on? did you have to use the study text or the opentuition notes and lectures were fully sufficient to score high marks?
please give your comments, i am planning to sit f9 this december
many thanks,
mikeOctober 19, 2015 at 1:30 am #277216Second attempt, scored 65 (*^o^*)
October 19, 2015 at 1:52 am #277221@Mike0943, the way f9 exam is going the examiner does not require much calculations like before in the era of 25mark questions. I’ll personally advice someone finds a balance between the theoretical part and the calculations aspects, September exam was a balance of both , the kind of questions you would expect didn’t come up. There was no wacc or npv, instead it was appraise a company about to take a loan and a question on lease or buy. There’s just one past question on lease or buy Asop Co
October 19, 2015 at 2:03 am #27722251, feeling lucky and happy!
October 19, 2015 at 6:36 am #27727454
October 19, 2015 at 7:14 am #27729644%, 38% last time. Don’t think I’m ever gonna pass this one
October 19, 2015 at 7:37 am #277313Mike, I used online lectures to make really succinct notes which I went over a few times and did as many questions as I could stick. At least two for every topic. But I did them well so I didn’t do every available question by any stretch.
I used the Kaplan exam kit which was great. It saves so much printing and poking through stuff. I didn’t open the textbook but apparently a lot of the extra stuff in them is great for the MCQs.
I should mention the first sitting in June I failed BADLY (36). My most significant change was doing 1 exam. I was doing 2 and passing 1. So say I got a 50 and a 40. I was learning 90 marks of information and still looking like a very average student! With the new quarterly exam I was able to do 1 well and still proceed through my exams at the same pace.
Now ready to hit work and the books with renewed vigour!
Good luck all- from a very average student!!!
October 19, 2015 at 8:08 am #277324Hi All, I just checked my results and its a pass with 51% on 3rd attempt (including missing a question out!).
I only used OT, just sat down watch the lectures, made my own notes. Once I had my own notes I just practiced passed questions and the OT questions.
PQ (finally)!
October 19, 2015 at 9:02 am #277358Pass!!! 55 … second attempt – thank you to the open tuition lectures !
October 19, 2015 at 9:10 am #277366Got 49% last time, and 49% this time.
MAD!
October 19, 2015 at 9:21 am #277378@sbarfoot thanks alot for the opinion, so opentuition plus the kit is enough to do very well in this paper
should i go through all the chapters in the bpp study text once only to get some idea for the MCQS or should i go through it slowly in good detail?
how did you write your answers in the exam? as detailed like bpp/acca? or in short points like opentuition advices? also how much did you write in the 10 and 15 mark questions how many points and how long was each point?
looking forward on your response
thanks once again
mikeOctober 19, 2015 at 9:24 am #277381Passed with 52 on third attempt. Thanks be to God!!! Congrats to everyone who passed and those who didn’t make please don’t despair keep going till you make it for nothing is easy in life!
October 19, 2015 at 9:31 am #277385Failed 36%, it was my second attempt! first attempt was 46%. I found Septembers exam really hard even tough I was confident beforehand and knew more that I did on the 1st attempt. 3rd time lucky in December.
October 19, 2015 at 9:35 am #277387Hey!! I’m really surprised. I did a very bad exam, and I already started the prearation for the re-sit and you know what?
53% Pass!!!!F9 was a disaster for me and I passed.
F8 I was confident on getting minimum 80 Marks and failed…FFFFFIUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!
October 19, 2015 at 9:43 am #277393Pass with 50 on the dot first time. Normally I would have liked a higher mark but I don’t think I care about this one at all. I do not have to resit, that’s all that matters. Exam was a complete disaster, 1 question not answered at all. Thanks to open tuition though for all the lectures.
October 19, 2015 at 9:57 am #277400Got 49 on my 4th attempt last time out.
