The F9 exam was a good paper but personally i don’t like multi choice. Over all it was a i good paper, manageable. I know I did well with the last section. Many thanks to opentuition expecially the one with risk i could hear the teacher in my head and i was able to answer that question effectively.

What were the other options? I remember reading something about short-term in the question so I didn’t know which to choose between commercial paper and the other “borrowing” answer. I think that was the question about funding a short term deficit that is expected in the future.

i only remember the options treasury bills and commercial papers.the other 2 wer’nt money market instrumnts. so it has to be one of these. the fwrd rate i usd this calculation :-
spot rate x 1 + foreign interst rate /1 + home interest rate. the other options wer 1.58 , 1.59. 1.62 and one more. i got 1.615. rounded it to 1.62.

How many marks for each part of Q32?

The last part about different types of risk was 5 marks. How about the part about the others?

When is the result for Dec 2016 exams coming out? Would be great if ACCA could facilitate the process so that we know early on if we need to retake.

Tommy, for your question “Profit index is calculated as NPV/ initial investment. Npv was 600,000 and initial inv 300,000. Gives a PI of 2. How did someone on this forum come up with entirely different figs?”

I would answer that PI should be 3, not 2, because we have to divide PV/Initial investment, not NPV/Initial investment.

    2mcq questions I remember

1 – calculating market value of equity and there some sort of shares and also convertible bonds that could be converted for 4 shares or something, I excluded the convertible shares in my calculation as until they are converted they are debt…anyone else do this?

2-share price growing at 3% for foreseeable future what is the share price or market value in 6 years, I multiplied the share price by 1.03^6 and multipliednthat by the number of shares anyone remember these 2 and do similar things?

The convertible bonds have a market value! (Conversion value*discount factor of final year) + (interest*annuity factor)

This is why I don’t like multiple choice, I understand that working, but technically they may not be converted and so is debt not equity, the question made no reference to ‘assume the bond holders take up their options to convert’ so for me it shouldn’t be included in a market value of equity calculation,

Anyway how about the other one I mentioned, with the inflation of 3% per year…

Also can anyone remember the topics question of mcq section b

Conlonl, I don’t remember that question clearly to give you an appropriate response but what you described is the the conversion value!

Vikar, commercial paper is a money market instrument issued at a discount, it’s not interest bearing
