I got 46% the first time around and was convinced i passed that time. Markers seem tough on this subject. Passed this time with 53% but again was expecting a lot better.

Failed on an 1st attempt. I can tell precisely what went wrong. Really grateful to Open tuition . I spent just a little over a month to study but got 48%
thought that i had done well, and yes.. 71..
must admit, the opentuition material made it so much easier..43%. A little bit disappointing but then again i feel it’s not bad as i left studying acca more thrn 5 years since the last sitting. This time will fully utilize materials from OT and pass for dec exam. Plz pray for us who has to resit this paper… 😉

I’ll suggest; write down everything you need to achieve – including the marks of expectation in your next sitting and, place it before the creator – the MOST HIGH God. Hmmmnnn almost didn’t make it, got 51 and I’m more thankful than if I had gotten more than that, cos I took on 3 subjects and passed ’em all!. Thank you Jesus.

Passed wit 60%. Self study usin Opentuition videos, notes and practices questions as well as Exam tips. Tanks a lot Opentuition.
failed f8 for the 3rd time in a roll with the same mark 48%. i’m tired. don’t know if I should asked for a review or re sit it sep2015???

My method for exams F2-F9 has been to first view the lectures on Open Tuition and then spend lots of time with the revision kits and doing at least 95% of all questions. Sometimes I do questions 2-3 times to make sure I understand it and can formulate a good answer well within the designated time. I think it’s important to answer the questions as you would in the exam and not just scribble down some bullet point.This has worked relatively well for me so far: 3 exams 90+, 4 exams 80+, 1 exam 78. I’m also usually done 10 minutes before the time limit (except the CBEs which took max 1 hour per exam)

The exam questions will not be the same; but help you to cement how to answer properly within the time allotted.

Assalamualaikum brother. may I know your marks you obtained this exam? This was my second attempt and Alhamdulillah got 58 marks out of attended 85 marks only.
Ok, the key point of getting that marks is that I gathered knowledge( memorized the common ans. format of Audit report.e.g Q.119(B), Audit Risk( find out the common and important audit risks from past exam Q.),Going Concern,steps and the Procedures(Learn it from KAPLAN) of purchase, sales and others and then learn its purpose,control and test of control) very well like I can start writing the Question Answer just looking at the QUESTION But mind it that the answer should have contained the most valuable key point of that answer which you will get those key and important words in the BPP exam kit which would help you to carry the almost full marks.
Another very Important thing is to understand the requirement of the question which is focused by the “verb word” of the Question such as “Explain the purpose of Review Engagement” . So here, if you just explain what is review engagement and its contents for example, nothing is visible to me that get me believed ……you wont full marks. But You must ans. here the purpose of the review engagement that is to get limited assurance of a particular issue of the Balance sheet or the income statement for the particular reason/purpose.
“Substantive Procedures” Learn ACCACOVER” this Stands “A= Accuracy,C=cut-off,C=Completeness,C=Classification,O= Occurrence” for the P/L Items and E=Existence,V= Valuation,C=Completeness,R=Right and obligation,C=Cut-off” for Balance sheet Items. Whether you understand or not the QUESTION scenario just apply those mnemonic carefully.
There are few Substantive Procedures,Out of ACCACOVER, which you may use as a salt (Nimak)-
1. Ask management for the written representation that they believe”Going concern, accounting estimate, provision, non-current asset valuation or dep’n. etc ” are reasonable.
2. Assess the reasonableness of the assumption used for the…….
3. Review the correspondences from supplier or customer whether they ……
4. Review the disclosure whether it is appropriate as per IAS/IFRS…..
5. Review the Correspondence,If any, of lawyer whether he believes that…….MOREOVER, Knowledge becomes power if it is used through writing again and again…
