Tough exam. I had Teds expected values and the AA Hotel balanced scorecard for section C. I really wasn’t sure what to do for the expected values question and I doubt I even got more than 2 marks for it!

Sections A & B I actually didn’t find too bad although I found the optimum price in section B tricky and a couple of bits in the lifecycle costing case study hard to work out. Usually no problem with both topics! Hoping I’ve done enough…..

    Hi @fahda40
Which decision package have you chosen for Zero base budget?

I chose decision pckage 3 as it had the lowest total cost. I think decision 1 had the highest cost if i remember correctly.

Lease useful for trading , i think the answer was D, its customer’s poll and review. Trading is concerned with Profit, therefore competitor’s price and market share.

Section A & B had a mixture of a lot of areas. Had Throughput accounting, Sales price variance, a lot of Environmental Accounting questions, was really not expecting that many, life cycle costing, Abc, almost everything to be honest.
Section C, a bit og a nightmare, had Ted Ev which I did not have a problem with in revision but pretty sure I did something wrong there, point C of this question really got me thinkinh if I answered a & b right, so left point C unanswered. I the. Got AA hotel balance scorecard which again I aas nit prepared for. Barely wrote anything here. Overall, i thiught the paper was really hard, I feel this paper if becoming harder and harder as not my first atempt. Not feeling confident at al. ?

Ran out of time in Section C as was too engrossed in double checking the answers in A/B.

ACCA has its ways of making us students pull our hairs out during the exam because some of the questions require you to really understand the theory and apply it to different scenarios.

Overall, good experience. Hope that I’ll be able to pass.

My Section C was zero based budgeting and my answer is Decision Package 3.. anyone?

Yes I had the same zero budgeting I also chose Decision Package 3
The other question was transfer price, but I couldn’t finish.. no time… 🙁

i got almost the same $240900. what was the answer to calculate the probability that Ted will make less profit?

for merchandise, I took 60% margin only as sales.
    10*0.6=6
    20*0.6=12
    30*0.60= 18
all above*probability * by 8700 (using probability to get to 8700)
    8700* 45 ticket price
    200K hiring castle hill cost
$50K + additional $5K for tour costs. (it stated for every 1000 increase tickets +5K tour cost)

what was 8 mark question about?

This was such a confusing question and didn’t make sense at all.
I wasn’t sure if we had to recalculate the formula or if we just had to continue working with this one that was given.

My answer was I think 557

Thé 8 marks was bécause you had to draw a table With différent profit so all thé possibilities. There were 9 possible outcomes.

For the probability to get less profit i got 45% but not sure if Im correct.

The exam was quite tough for me … except part C
Was my first attempt and i hope îll get at least 50%

You are supposed to calculate the Q first by working out MR=MC
And then you calculate P= a-bQ

I’d we are bin honest, the questions weren’t exactly difficult, I think it’s a matter of understanding the questions. The questions are set to make it difficult for the students to understand what is actually bin asked.
