Failed – second attempt with 46 only. start thinking that I am dull). Would like to see where I made mistakes – but no they say property of ACCA and how about freedom of information, ACCA? Tbh was confident that I would pass this time, but no.

Passed 53% and missing all the part C (which was the easiest part but didn’t manage my time well), I still can’t believe it!
Thank God, self studying and first attempt using only opentuition and exam revision book from BBP. Thanks Opentuition for the great free videos, can’t hank you enough.

I don’t think it is helpful to anyone when people say ‘I passed by doing very little study’. Some people find studying harder than others and could read comments like that as demotivating. You will all pass eventually, it may just take more than one attempt.

I’m proud to say I passed today (56%) by self-study and I’m now motivated to try F6 and F7 in September.

    Tips:
1.Do not give up, start studying earlier so that your memory is revived from last paper and resit as soon as possible, if you push paper far ahead you will not benefit much from the earlier revision effort.
2.Go through study text twice – first to get concepts then second to ensure you get the syllabus knowledge base.
    3. Watch & work through the Open Tuition lectures & revision lectures – very helpful.
    4. Go through the BPP practice & revision book thrice, 1st to get to learn how to answer questions, 2nd to learn speed and accuracy, 3rd to make sure you can answer any question asked from whichever topic in the exam.
    5. Read the technical articles twice – gives you an idea of what the examiners are thinking.
    6. Develop exam technique – answer easy questions first (saves time & builds confidence), don’t get stuck on a question, skip it & return to it later, allocate exam time to marks (about 1.8 minutes per mark) so you know how much time to spend on high marks questions than get stuck on a low mark question, when you could have gathered more marks from a high mark question. It is all about collecting as many marks as possible so you get safely above the 50% pass-mark.

My tips are from experience as I passed on second attempt (so I have an idea what it feels like – not to pass) but had to get over my initial disappointment and work through every topic diligently because I had allocated very little study/revision time to F5 at first not realizing it is a skills paper – so more is expected from students at skills level than the earlier papers F1-F3. It was also my first paper based exam and I had both exam technique and time management issues – run short of time in the exam. CBEs seem easier to skip questions, flag them & return to complete the skipped question. Paper-based you have to force yourself to move on fast – chances of getting stuck/discouraged were higher from my experience.

You will pass – just put in time & effort, be encouraged & never give up!

    Never give up.
After my 6th attempt, i manage to get 50 marks. On previous attempts end up between 43 to 49. Ended up twice with 49 marks. But i never gave up.
I believe there is no beautiful mark than 50 marks. Only those who end up with 49 marks can understand this.

Thanks to Mr Moffats for all my stupid questions he answered. However, having scored 60 on my third attempt,I believe I should have done better. it fuels the question of why ACCA restrict access the the answer booklets. it may help avoid mistakes in next exam. For example, if my writing isn’t legible enough because I have always thought I did well in exams but results weren’t as promising.

Those of my friends who are not able to pass this time rememer that at times Life may knock you down badly BUT the key is to pick yourself up and fight again and again until you succeed. At one time i was so demotivated that i left ACCA with 11 papers knowing that i won’t be able to complete it, but resumed after a long period of time with new determination and ambition and qualified the remaining 3 in first attempt. Keep fighting.

Failed with 40% on my 3rd attempt. Really is frustrating because I thought the paper went quite well. Huge congrats to those who passed, any pointers on this paper would be greatly appreciated. You give us hope !! 🙂
