i have passed my F4 CBE with 66% very pleased as it was my 3rd time. the exam itself is very straight forward thats if we remember the notes well.
I had question more on fraudulent and wrongful trading- knowing it so well I still got confused with which is civil &/ criminal offence. it was also examined in the Section B as Scenario question
Another scenario question was how many directors public and private company have? just the general stuff from that chapter
Also a scenario on Offer and acceptance by post -again just the basic stuff if offer can be accepted by post.
Section A
-Fraudlent /WrongfullTrading
-Meanings of Terms and Representation
-Volenti Fit Injura/Contributary Negligence
-Can under 18 create a contract
-What is not Novus actus interveniens-so I had to pick the right answer
-Small question on offer,counter offer
-Does counter offer rejects original offer
-which does not form Compulsary Wind up
-Who can sign a memorandum-SubscribersAlthough the exam was OK but they ask same question in different way a few times does get worrying.
I was done within an hour.
Good Luck To All
March 11, 2015 at 7:07 pm #232060Passed only got 56% but was done in under one hour… my tips would be use online lectures and purchase the practice exams as they are a good indication and some are actually similar questions which could come up!
March 19, 2015 at 12:07 am #233239I passed today with 80%. My advice would be to go over the whole syllabus (bpp text book) and practise questions from bpp and kaplan exam kit. I did not realise that the whole cbe is multiple choice due to the fact that all exam kits are geared towards new format of the exam but paper version rather than CBEs ( where one part is mcqs and the other is written answers). A lot of questions were about wrongful and fraudulent trading, veil of incorporation, directors, agencies, express and implied authority, liquidation etc. Only one question about negligence, a few around offers and acceptances, employment law and partnerships and a couple from legal system like courts, burden of proof etc Majority of questions were based on a scenario rather than a statement and some were quite ambiguous. I’ve done 7 papers so far and this one was the easiest due to the mcq format. Good luck everyone.
March 19, 2015 at 12:11 am #233240And I forgot to mention that while there is no need to remember the cases’ names it is definitely worth reading them all a few times as some of the scenarios are identical!
March 20, 2015 at 11:00 am #233429Hi,
Had my F4(ENG) CBE exam today and passed with 73%. I purchased the practice test on MyACCA and found them very useful as it really helped me familiarise myself with the style of questions and how the questions are posed. Also the feedback from the test is excellent as it shows you a diagram of the syllabus area you were tested on and colour codes each area, red means you scored below 50%, amber 50 – 60% and green for 70% and above. This really helped me identify which areas I was week on and where I needed to improve. You can drill down further and actually see which questions you got wrong and what the correct answers were and for what reasons.
March 27, 2015 at 1:06 am #239046Hey I passed F4 with 70%….finish in less than an hour, read over and over n over change answers… Mine was much from directors, company, court system, partnership, offer and acceptance, money laundering n fraudulent n wrongful trading…it was my easiest ACCA test ever although I hate the reading paper….love F5 though

April 6, 2015 at 6:34 am #240257Hey all
I took my F4 English CBE yesterday, and please when I say this, I mean it.
DON’T UNDERESTIMATE!
Specifically the paper I had was literally the toughest paper. And unfortunately I failed with a mark of 47%, only 3 marks away from a pass. I had many questions on the law of tort and negligence. But very little on resolutions and meetings, those topics which I had spent a lot of time revising as I had struggled a lot on those topics.
I am planning to resit this on Sunday 12th April 2015, so hope all goes well for me.

I passed the F4 Eng variant last week with 78%. I used BPP textbook, revision kit and pocket notes.
I read the text book first then the pocket notes and then two weeks before the exam I began to complete the kit. I completed the kit 3 days before the exam. Then, the following day I re-read the pocket notes and looked back at all the cases in the textbook. I then rested the day before the exam. Finally, on the morning of the exam I scanned back through the pocket notes.
That’s how I passed.
Kindly note that the revision kit questions are basically the same as those in the exam, they will just change a few names. So use up the revision kit guys.
Good Luck!
May 9, 2015 at 9:33 pm #245025Thank you very much. I sat my exam today and pass with 78%. I have really enjoyed listening your amazing lectures and I have learnt a lot.
