make sure to read the book and understand the theory bits. The exam was 60% theory and 40% numerical and covered all areas of the sylabus.

Hey Mr John Moffat, I had my exams on 18th of September, F3 CBE, I got challenges though. The setting had changed a little bit compared to the past papers. Section B on Consolidation had me confused with about the before acquistion thing, there was something fixed in it. Well, I will be resitting that same paper on 2nd October truthful my challenge is still the suspense accounts. Thank you so much for your effort to make sure we learn. I follow every class of yours. Thank you.

Just passed today, I found that it was crucial to really use T accounts and be sound on the theory. I have now passed the f1 , f2 & f3 with Opentution. Thank you John Moffat for the fantastic resources for free !

Thanks Open Tution and Mr John Moffat! I have now passed F1, F2 and F3 with open tution! As a lawyer with no accounting background asides from A’level economics i am very grateful for these lectures. I passed F3 on the second attempt because the first attempt i did not have enough time for the exam kit. Thank you so much Sir and God bless you real good.

One of my questions was consolidated profit/loss statement. It required to prepare a part of the statement, calculate goodwill and NCI profit. There were questions about associate and subsidiary (theoretical part, what makes an entity associate/subsidiary and etc).
Second one was just calculations of depreciation, tax paid, receivables, bad debts and etc.
Cash flow statement may appear too.
Buy and do all three practice tests at myacca. Practice a lot!
    Good luck!

Hi! I had my exam on 4 December. It was a chellenge. The exam was 60% theory and 40 % calculation. The part B was consolidation and simple financial statements. Consolidation was ugly because I had to calculate the price paid by the parent for the aquisition. It was an exchange of shares given, as datas and the prices pare share. Also I gad to calculate the net assets ant aquisiton, for the subsidiary. The financial statement were ok. Nothing unsusal. Just the fact that the aquisition was mid-year.

    I pass my F3 paper with 80.
Suspense account question come out a lot in my question, very hard for me.
MTQ , i had to do a full consolidation statement, make sure u knowhow to calculate good will, retaring earning, non controlling interest.
I also had to do the deprecition, ratio and other small caculation in my second question. Practice test in myacca help a lot.
