ACCA work closely with opentuion to provide these so-called “Exam tips” when in fact it doesn’t mean anything other than confusing students. You are a fool if you rely on them, but there is no harm looking at it and forgetting it next second.

Cover the whole syllabus and practice all the areas. DO NOT DEPEND ON THESE EXAM TIPS. THEY NEVER GUESS IT CORRECT. NOT A SINGLE TIME.

    Hi Opentution

I just have a query on us getting too little time in exams. Link below is ACCA Exam Review Boards minutes summary from ACCA website for June 2015 sitting.

    https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/learning-provider/resources-tuition/examination-review-board/examination-review-board-june-2015.html

From the summary report I can see that 75% members in the review board believe students get too little time for paper P3 and P4, and for all other papers its above 50%. Exam review board constantly says students get too little time in their exam, but ACCA examiners do the exactly same thing every single time over and over again. So I wonder whats the point of having a review board if examiners can’t do what they recommend?

Can opentuition please get an answer for this question from ACCA or If you are ACCA (funded by ACCA) can you please give me an answer?

    Thanks very much
    M

The ACCA do not work closely with anyone to provide exam tips!!

Exam tips certainly are not worth following – we no longer provide exam tips, but we do allow those from other tuition providers to be posted.

OpenTuition is not funded by anyone (and certainly not by the ACCA).

Accountants are expected to be able to work under time pressure and the exams reflect that. If a student is well-prepared then they should be able to just about complete the exams in the time. Given that is extremely difficult, that is why the pass mark is set so low at only 50%. The ACCA examiners are not going to change their policy and so you have to accept it as a fact of life I am afraid.

Checked tips after exam (sat P3).
Firstly, they are very broadly. Secondly, as mentioned by Anthony, they could cover the whole syllabus.

I never relied on tips. What I do – I just check myself that I’m aware of all topics raised up in the tips, or not aware 🙂
